There’s a word for these: mondegreen.
I’ve always loved the one from Purple Haze, because the song still makes sense.
Heard lyrics: ‘scuse me while I kiss this guy
Actual lyrics: ‘scuse me while I kiss the sky
The Losing My Religion one is funny, but makes less sense:
Heard lyrics: let’s pee in the corner, let’s pee in the spotlight
Actual lyrics: that’s me in the corner, that’s me in the spotlight |

The first time I heard Alain Morissette's You Oughta Know in a Supermarket, I was sure I thought she said "the cross-eyed bear that you gave to me" instead of "the cross i bear that you gave to me" 🤦♀️😂🤷♀️
