I've a pretty big hospital appointment tomorrow. I'm nervous & anxious about it. This is easier to say to ye on here then to my family & friends 😒
I'm in/out of hosp monthly. Always go on my own with the attitude "there is nothing to see here".
I tell everyone I'm fine but I'm very good at holding it together tbh. Going on my own is always easier than someone going with me as in my mind in downplays the significance of each appt & why I'm there.
But I'm already nervous 😏

Please don't try to do this alone. It's amazing how a bit of support can help make it a bit easier. Don't be afraid to ask someone you know and it doesn't even need to be a family member or friend.

I go on my own too, it's hard enough managing your own feelings never mind managing someone else's distress. But sometimes when. The back is up against the wall it's nice to accept support if you need and want it.

Well your attitude is definitely better than spiralling and focusing on the worst case scenario.
But honestly my advice would be let one or two people in shit like this is always better delt with with support |

You sound very similar to myself, I'll always do difficult things on my own because I find I'd rather not stress anyone else out and feel like I can handle most things myself.
You sound like a very strong person emotionally to have dealt with everything by yourself to date but my advice is to find one or two people you can chat about
things as it can lift some pressure off you also 🫂
I'm sure there are many people in your real life or on here that would be happy to chat back and forth 🫂 I'm great with random chats so if you ever fancy a non Fab style chat say hello, I'd be delighted to share random conversations about life 😊

I was in hospital for 10 days recently. It was my first time in hospital and I was totally blown away by the level of professional medical care and the amazing kindness and courtesy shown to me during my stay in hospital.
The majority of those that work in the medical service are dedicated professionals who look after people extremely well when they are at their most vulnerable.
Best of luck OP for your hospital appointment and you can be confident that the people looking after you will be your friends and support you while you are in their care.

I can totally get the whole go it alone same myself . I can handle and process my own feelings and concerns. But sometimes it's also good to talk and get it off your chest if you need to . It's amazing how just by talking with someone it can just clear your mind and help relax .

It is only natural to be feeling anxious and scared for your life.although your medical history is private to you maybe by telling someone close to you like a friend a sibling or neighbour what you are going through medically and that you are feeling very anxious about it maybe they might be able to go with you and hold your hand or just be there for you when you either get good or bad news or if it's a procedure that you are getting and just be there for you when it is over so you have someone by your side when you come through.there are times a person thinks it is better not to express their feelings in this circumstance but when in a vulnerable position maybe the thoughts don't be right and maybe someone close to you can make the right decisions for you or have your back when you need it.the main thing is that whatever it is that your appointment is for that you get a good outcome and your anxiety hopefully will disappear.i am here if you need to chat anyway and if it's someone to chat over the phone just pm me Il give you my number and we can chat any time strictly in confidence and just an ear to listen |

I get it. Sometimes it’s easier to deal with these things by yourself. Atleast you have your counsellor session coming up to talk things through and help you figure out the best thing to do for you

So I saw the main doc a little while ago.
Bad news but with a silver lining. I always look at the positives.
Have to hang around here all day as I've another appt at 2ish and then back for treatment at 3ish.
