Etiquette on removing Fab Friends

I have a few fab friends who, for one reason or another, don't be in contact anymore for a good while (not days, but weeks).

Do people generally just remove them as friends without warning or would you message them to tell them that you are removing them?

Personally, I'd like to be told, but I'm probably the minority.

I really don’t get why you’d friend anyone here. I have a few but all it does is clog up my updates. And then I see their update in the updates anyway. I don’t really see the value in it but maybe I’m missing something.

I suppose I’d like to be told if I was being removed though but I wouldn’t be too put out if I wasn’t.

A nice rock

It kind of depends. I've a few fab friends who I've spoken to for years that if I felt the need to remove them they would probably already know why.

People who I've just recently added for ease of chatting (and let's face it access to the extra perv material) if the convo fizzled out I'd just remove without notice.

I ve done friend purges in the past, just as a tidy up, and it has pissed people off. So now I mostly don't delete any friends.

As a result I keep my friends pics pretty clean.

The pub then supermacs ...

If ive not chatted with a someone in a few weeks i just remove them don't see the point in maintaining as friends, plus it unclogs the updates and less shit ye have to scroll through, i never say im removing i just delete 😁

This is what happened tbh. added the person to be able to find them easier in the friends list and then conversation just stopped.

I friend them to show that I'm actually interested. Bad habits that I should stop tbh

somewhere

I never realised you're meant to chat to friends on a daily basis

Chat groups seems to have taken all that traffic

I'm friends with people that I only meet at socials a few times a year and have never tried to get into their knickers

Guess I'm doing fab a different way to others

I try to keep mine to people I have regular contact with, and sometimes this just fizzles out , so I unfriend without notice , and possible they don't even notice !!!

If someone does vice-versa to me I'm OK with that.

It's not like their blocked so who nows what can happen , it's about quality not quantity .

I can count on one hand the number of people on my friends list and I've only spoken to one of them in the last year or so.

The list isn't long enough to really cull it so I just leave it as is.

My friends list is a mixed bag. The common denominator is that they are people I like.

If there's a lot of updates that are not of interest to me ill quietly unfriend.

None of my friends would care if we are friends on fab or not.

I just delete them, fab friends means fuck all in the main. Unless someone has been given a means of contact outside the site and they regularly check in, they're nothing more than casual acquaintances

We've never removed anybody from our friends list. Not bothered if others removed us.

Some people do like to share pics just to friends list!

We just remove them. Our friend list is literally for people who want to meet again or actual friends.

Alicante Spain, and Cork City Ireland

I am an in and out chatter.

For me, Fab isn't a partnership, relationship, spouse kind of thing untill it is! At which point it's no longer just on fab.

Now I have a few friends who I chat with, people I find interesting and who hopefully find me interesting too. Time may pass between conversations. But this doesn't seem to be a problem.

But then each person has their own ways.

Does that work? You could try “You’ve been on my hotlist for a while” so you don’t run into this issue

Did a purge a few months ago and the shit we got for it, so if we could turn back time we'd add no one. There's really no point. As someone touched on in this post everyone hear is casual acquaintances at best.

I don't have many people friended on here but I do get rid of some every now and again

I go through phases of being chatty/regular contact and phases of the opposite, I've no bother at all with people removing me from their friend lists if they wish and don't grow any negative feeling towards them... still have the craic on here whether through forums/messages etc

I don't mind friends on here not being in contact so often. We're not in each other's ear at all. Friends on here pop in and out and I keep it to the 2 dozen or so I have known through various profiles over the years. Some are met over coffee, just for coffee. I'm in trade, and deal with the public, along with suppliers, and so we have a lot in common and can bump into people in non Fab environments easily in Cork.

I'd never delete a friend because their updates are usually more fun or focused than most other crap in the standard updates.

In other words, I'd rather see a fine pair of legs from someone I know and think "Oh wow, nice", or a class shirt on my mate, than some strange guys hairy arsehole in my face as I scroll.

Actual friends (through Fab) have our number. Anyone else isn’t really a friend just someone who we may meet at some point in the possibly distant future…? Once framed in that sense whether we de-friend or they de-friend it doesn’t matter.

I very rarely remove friends

Been a little, maybe more than a little Narcissistic, removing friend would lessen my fabs on my

Pics.

Once we friends in fabswingers

I’feel bad. I only add friends if we’re going to meet. And We generally only meet with people once, and after we de-friend them. Not here to make long term friends TBH.

I've been tempted to defriend people especially if you drop them a message and you get a one word or even a no word response...

Have been defriended by people I've shared a bed a with and didn't like it (... just being honest here )

Have only ever defriended two people and been upfront about why and friended one since. Everyone has their own rules I guess

We only friend people we have met and get on with . So they are people we want to meet again so we don't unfriend. Unless boundaries are crossed

I have a look through my friends from time to time and if we haven't spoken in over 3 months or I don't remember you. You usually get deleted. There are a few exceptions but that's what I normally do.
