Thank you so much, if only I could hug you all (that could be an interesting, big group hug hahahha). I just got caught up in the crisis . A crisis of longing and loneliness for family and friends. The so-called loneliness abroad (every few weeks it gets to me, I probably need to supplement. Vit. D) a simple sincere smile, their presence and the possibility of hugging and even just talking about the weather, are priceless... so little, and what a huge power it has.

I recently spent two days in Dublin. I chatted to a lovely lady from Limerick and a mom and and daughter visiting from Italy on the train journey from Cork. I chatted to 2 lovely ladys who sat beside me in Keogh's pub on South Anne's St and 4 very nice guys who sat there when the ladies left.
I met some friends and we chatted to some strangers in Ryan's Park gate St. on Friday evening and I chatted to a lovely helpful Brazilian shop assistant in Arnotts and a lovely chinese girl who served me breakfast in the Ilac centre on Saturday morning.
I had a lovely chat with the barman in the front bar of DV8 on Saturday afternoon and chatted to a lovely girl from Kilkenny on the train back to Cork.
There are some wonderful friendly people in Ireland, both native and non-native, just waiting to chat if you make a little effort and engage with them in a polite way.
You can feel lonely in a crowd but you can feel valued and cherished by being with kind decent people.
Hugs are free....share the love. |

Of course, you're right... And that's what I am, those who know me, know that I'm always open, cheerful, and really friendly... But Everyone has moments of weakness.... Sometimes something inside just breaks... I shouldn't be writing this here at all, I'm not a person who feels sorry for myself. It was a moment ... It just came out of me... My tears were like a shot of water from the nostrils of a whale... Thenk you, I apologize for pouring out my private feelings here.

I suffer from loneliness too so know what you (or anyone else on here) is going through.
And this is not some sort of crass pick up attempt but if you (or again anyone else) just feels like chatting, pop me a message on here.
Can chat about anything at all |

Having lived abroad for 10yrs I can understand how you feel.
Triggered by songs from home usually, or the days when many friends are gone back home/elsewhere for a while.
Moments of loneliness, often made worse by something that triggers memories of home.
Sending you love and not just a hug but one of those really squeezy, tight hugs that last a while and you know it's meant sincerely from someone who knows exactly how you feel 💖
Never be afraid to openly discuss your feelings either. There is always other people who have felt the same and may be able to help or support you |

Thank you ❣️
Exactly...it is not loneliness because of the lack of people around me, because I can enjoy solitude and silence. it is loneliness because of the lack of closeness and loved ones, for longing for them ...which wakes up in some life situations, sometimes difficult problems and sometimes just everyday...songs, images you see walking down the street, or conversations of others... |

A feeling that so many of us can resonate with.
Heartwarming to see so many genuine offers of virtual and real hugs with no other expectations too.
I remember during those dreadful early days of 2020/2021 hugs were what I mourned the most.
Never underestimate the power of a meaningful heart filled hug, and here's one from me to you ❣️ |

Sending a hug and an ear 🤗🦻 , never under estimate the power of a hug or an ear just to listen , to be heard in a time of crisis even without the listener having an answer is huge , lets support each other 🤗🤗🤗🦻 |
