Surely as you're a guy, you'd like the feedback of events from other men? 🧐🤨
As a guy, and a guy who's started running a social, I would say that events are what it's all about. Best way to meet people, without question. |

It's like going to a pub or hotel and having a few drinks and a laugh with friends or people that you know
That's it ....unless there's a DJ and everyone dances to ABBA and sometimes there's a slow set |

"Is it ok to rock up to these events on your own, as your always with your mates in a pub or hotel? "
You need to get an invite or buy a ticket depending on the social
Yes you can go on your own
Being honest the first time is a little bit daunting for about 5 minutes but if you get chatting to other people going in the days coming up to it you'll normally be fine |

It's fine to go by yourself sometimes there is a group chat beforehand. Sometimes there are a couple of group chats in fact. Some you get added to others you don't.
They are okay you just go and chat to others. I have found quite often the music is so loud that it's almost impossible to hear what others are saying. (Yes I know I'm that old ).
Some are laid out in a way it's easy to chat to people other times it's like a distance friends wedding where everyone is in their groups and it's hard to approach tables to chat to people.
They are just like a night out basically. Some are great some are meh.

We organize social events for fellow swingers.
Reason why it's worth attending them:
1. It's a safer environment for people to meet new people they may fancy.
2. You get to chat to many like minded people all at once in person instead of relying on individual messages online that people barely respond to.
3. It's easier to establish connection in person.
4. At our events music is never too loud, tables laid out in a way that makes it easier to approach others, there is entertainment and games to break the ice, as hosts we work the room and help people to get introduced to each other.
5. Lesser chance of meeting people who will be no shows at the later date.
Reasons why socials may not be for you:
1. If you are shy and struggle with approaching people- there is only so much that can be done to help you with that. It's up to people who attend them to put themselves out there.
2. If you have "I have enough mates to go out with, I'm just here for sex" mentality - there's no point attending as no sex happens at socials.
3. If you're easily offended or confrontational/have a mean streak - those behaviours are generally unwelcome.
4. If you can't have a good time without using dr*gs. A tipple is perfectly acceptable. Dr*gs is an absolute no no.
If you are single- it's best to come on your own instead of looking for a date who will come with you as the whole point of the social is to meet new people and mingle with as many people as you can.
Expected behaviour is usually just to be your normal self, have some banter, get to know people. Coming along and approaching every woman with "hi, wanna meet after" usually doesn't fly.
For safety and privacy reasons- all our events are only open to meet verified people.
Hope this helps

I'm doing the Drogheda Casual Social, and the next is on the 20th October.
It's a Sunday day time social. The Social is orientated around chat and banter. It's not music or alcohol driven, so easier for said chats.
The first was people from around Drogheda/Louth but also Galway, Belfast and Dublin represented.
Worth considering anyway |

A Sunday Daytime Social is much more likely that we'd get the freedom to go to and so we hope to go to one if yours soon. No taxis, accommodation or d*unk people to deal with at day time socials. So that appeals as well. |

"Thanks just bo keep me in mind when your going to your next event "
You see this is why you're getting stick for asking the ladies, because your strategy was pretty clear ever before you posted the above
Anyway, my advice is to go to a small organised coffee social (maybe 20 people) to start. It's much easier to get talking to people at these than the larger socials where you get groups of friends sticking together. Good luck |
