You can use the early part of the journey tell them your likes dislikes and let them know it’s okay for them to do the same. Meaning, if you know deep down that person is self centered and not a good player to the relationship. Stay away from that! Look for person who is always willing to do extra mile stuff, loves to spend time with you. One can do things that self centered person would not do. And do it without asking. Then you know | |||

" There's always gonna be the pros & cons of such a scenario,& that's ok too. me ? l Will remain single until l find the lady that's on the same wavelength as me, will keep looking of course,here & in the real world, l would prefer to remain single than be with the wrong person but if ..if.. l find a lady that's right in physical & mental attributes for me & l her ...for each other , then she'll own me , it really is that simple, but until then it's the single life for me, not being selfish here , not by any stretch of the imagination, just being practical, for both . | |||

"It’s possible that if the couple are incredibly well matched or it’s their second onwards really long term relationship that their values align with some compromises that don’t overwhelm them . They may be good enough communicators to work through challenges . They may have the experience to agree on expectations and red lines at the beginning . However I think In many scenarios once the honeymoon period is over , you get to a point where one partner or both are giving the other a free pass. Not contributing enough to household chores , being overly critical , not being present enough as a parent/carer, not being validating enough as a partner/lover etc . There comes a critical point where a decision needs to be made , am I going to accept this forever ? Some don’t , and split up , or go to therapy etc . Some do , because they’re financially dependent , or emotionally dependent , or are trying to protect the kids . I suppose some will stay because they think they love the other person too much to leave , but the cynical me says what they’re describing is dependence/pragmatism not love . Single is ok , no free passes to someone who is taking you for granted " If there is someone taking the other person for granted ,who's wrong ?..the person doing it or the person taking it ? You see ,to me anyway , in a relationship or Marriage what can happen very easily is the scenario " what's for me is also for you " & that can be so detrimental, that's why it's so important to get it right,a person who truly knows you will never inflict that sort of situation on you , never make you feel uneasy just because they think they can, they won't bring unnecessary drama to your life , in my opinion that's why it's so important to find the right person for yourself & her,if both find that person then it's bliss for them while they're on this Earth simply because they're made for each other & that's why it's so difficult to find that & until that happens it's way better for a person to stay single,do not get involved with a person that's wrong for you . | |||
