I've just been reading a thread on a Facebook group and it's prompted me to ask the question here!

It's madness the amount of people replying saying they don't check them, simply dump them in the bin!

Few year's ago id bought 6 bread rolls at 60c each in my weekly shopping when the bill came up was way more than i though got out to the car and took a look,the lady on the till had tapped in 6 x 6.00 instead of 6 x 0.66

Dont ask for receipts for diesel or most things in the petrol station but its tap and go so I see the cost

The big problem I find is take outs

They fuck you in the drive through and hope you're so far away that you dont go back

I always ring and get a complaint number so food is free next time

Never. I don't check receipts. I don't check change. When I tap I don't check the amount. When I get paid cash I don't count it. My accountant despairs.

Depends on how much stuff is on it. If it's two high value products I'll usually have the amount in my head before I pay so I know the total before I get to the till. Lots of small things nope I don't check unless it's over the amount I thought it would be. Usually it isn't though.

I always have the total in my head going to the till - if I am way off then I ask for a receipt or for a price check otherwise no - I never ask for a receipt

It's such a privilege to be able to do the shopping, get what you need, and just tap without paying attention to the total.

I tend to forgot those college days when I'd have to count every penny and hope I'd have enough to get the groceries without having to put something back.
