By my 25th birthday I had two kids, I had a good job . But I had to choose to relocate my job or choose redundancy.
I choose my children didn't want to see them only weekend's as travelling was gonna be the biggest issue for me before doing a day's work and coming home late. My 25th birthday was chosen the redundancy package. Happy birthday 🎂 BTW. |

Happy Birthday OP!
I think having a few skills built up by age 25 is reasonable, whether through formal qualification or hands on experience.
and for me seeing more of the world was important to open up my perspective on life.

Everyone is different and come from various social economic backgrounds so 25 years of age can be very different for everyone.
I'm in my thirties now but at 25 I'd just moved back home from Boston after 6 years there studying a civil engineering masters, me and the child's mother bought our first home. Id set up my business in the same year. It was a hectic year, but saying that I came from a family who could support me to get to where I was at that age. |

Look you know what date your birthday is. That's a good start.
As Filthy said there is no should everyone will have different starts, opportunities and attributes.
I was an absolute mess at 25. Bur had a solidish 10 years after that |

At 25 I was burnt out from helping run a business, lost weight, drank way too much and couldn't even take a day off without a phone call. I didn't have any personal relationships as all I did was work work work. Wasn't worth it. 25 is still young. Enjoy life and don't be worrying about what others did or are doing. |

By 25, ideally, you should have figured out how to be kind to people, done some travelling, learned something (not necessarily in college), spent your hard earned money but no so much that you’re in debt and have a bit of savings. If you can, get a consistent savings record in place now…it’ll make life so much easier.
25 is so young, especially these days. You have a world of opportunity ahead of you. Say yes to new adventures and enjoy life before you have tons of responsibilities. |

Jesus Jaffa that's too serious.
You sound like my account 🤣🤣
At 25 I drank and spent everything I earned and don't regret any of it there is plenty time for being sensible |

Nothing, don't worry about it. Thoughts like that get you into the 27 club. Realise you have plenty of time to do whatever you want to in future and focus on that, who cares what anybody thinks you should have by now |

I'd say go as crazy as you like, be sensible when you need to be, then go slightly crazy again. You only live once!

Fully agree with this. Life's too short to be sensible all the time and too long to be boring.🥳 |

By the time I reached 25 I had been an adult for 13 years with responsibilities that only an adult could have.
I had been working for 6 years and had just had a wage increase to £100 a week, half of which covered petrol, insurance and hp payments on the car I had to have to look after my siblings and remaining parent.
Travel wasn't an option ever.
Further education had been taken away from me by a vindictive teacher and I was still a virgin.
Any advice I could give would be irrelevant to most. |

At 25 I still hadn't decided what wanted out of life. Done most things on a whim. Booked solo holiday because was fed up and couldn't decide if wanted a car or holiday. Working a part time job which was 5 and half days long.
Great holiday and set me up that now single again I just go when I want and who cares what others think or say. |

You don’t have to have achieved anything by 25 or any other age. Follow your gut, do what you want to do and don’t compare yourself to others (that includes your family)
You are free to do whatever you want. Don’t restrict yourself by setting yourself arbitrary achievements to attain. |

Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life.
The most interesting people I know didn't know at 25 what they wanted to do with their lives.
Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't. |

I won't lie this thread kinda makes me feel like a failure lol. I'm 25 and it feels like I've lived 25 years too long. I've never understood the idea that life is an adventure, it's a temporary condition for matter to exist in, and not a particularly desirable one at that.
That being said I think you should try and focus on happiness, or at the very least on reducing pain and hardship in your personal life. That's all any of us can really do I think. |
