I for one greatly miss the musicality of the dial up tone. What a joy that was.
I often wonder if it was just a sound effect added in just to distract you from the annoying delay? |

Maybe some people were on the Information Superhighway in 93 😂
We didn't even have a TV with working buttons till at least 98! If you wanted to change the channel, you had to reach around the back and tune the one working channel between stations 😂😂
Now I can control the blinds/lights/tv/music/vaccum with Alexa, so making up for it. |

Same here, when one over comes the hurdle of being offended and deals with disappointment instead they are less likely to live in fear.
Oh I'm triggered lol I'm sooo offended, how dare you not be offended on behalf of something that's none of your business...
I'm offended because you're not offended.... and it goes on and on....
Being disappointed rather than offended is a much stronger position....
Best thing to do is not put oneself in the position of being offended.... luckily I don't affiliate myself with the brigade that lives in constant fear and looking out for being triggered all the time..

"Do your own research" usually comes from people who have never in their own lives researched anything and simply repeat the phrases they've read on Facebook and YouTube. It'd be funny if it wasn't so utterly ridiculous. |

The irony on the other side of that a lot of people will believe what the man or woman on television or the radio says too, easily assimilated to tow the line that the pied piper is drawing.
Boards dot ie is full of moderators who learn more towards the current thing...
As for research, if the price is right anyone will manipulate the real story in order to fabricate what's socially acceptable...

I'm confused by "rib eye steak".
Back in my youth we had "frying meat", "stewing meat" and "steak".
Those were your choices when it came to buying beef which begs the question, what the feck were they doing with the rib eye steaks until a decade ago? Did we call them something else? I certainly never heard of them back in the 90s. 🤔
