So the use of sunbeds is going to be banned.

With the summer we've been getting it looks like pale is the only option.

Same. I'm not generally in favour of government banning adults from chosen activities, but neither am I a fan of the burned brown look so its no loss to society.

The government should warn or deter people from using them, but a ban is just silly.

They're obviously no loss to the exchequer, like cigarettes and alcohol would be!

"I’d rather have the choice to use them or not, government sticking their nose in yet again "

Overall they do more harm than good. But they can be beneficial when used correctly.

You're far more likely to get melanoma after getting burned.

A base tan is equivalent to an SPF of 4 or 5. If you get tan in a controlled environment, then abroad you can stay 4 or 5 times longer getting blasted with harmful rays before getting burned, if it washes off in the water or before you get a chance to re-apply.

Rub that turf on good and hard, wipe it off and no sun screen needed.

Sure what more could you want.

You could always get the painter to touch up your tan when they have finished painting your house.

Weathershield for Women might be an appropriate product.

A nice rock

The Tánaiste saying he'd support a ban is completely different than the government proposing an all out ban.

I'm a for thr government placing restrictions on dangerous products.

People who complain about government sticking their noses in are usually the first to complain that the government having acted on something else
