Dublin 9

So a long time ago I used to watch south park and then kind of moved on or grew out of it.

I recently watched an episode of it and holy shit its absolutely hilarious. Theres no holding back on any topic or recent events and the poor animation of the characters just add to the comedy of the show!

Its going for 25 years or so. Not as long as the simpsons but still a brilliant achievement. Plus its still very funny

kinda dublin

I think part of the reason they stayed fresh is they regularly develop new main carachters so it doesn't grow stale. Butters, Randy, PC Principal, That ginger cop.

Plus a lot of satirical comedy focuses mainly on conservatives. But South park if anything, rips the piss out of Liberals more than anything. So it's different from anything else

Ya I do think the "everyone is a target" helps people laugh at the elements of themselves reflected that would usually alienate them from more bias shows

It's fucking amazing that a cartoon is one of the most nuanced shows on TV

Dublin

The Ozempic special is utterly hilarious. Megan and Harry running around demanding their privacy creases me.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are comedic geniuses

When I said on the forums I watched South park, was told that it was a childish show for kids which begs the question of what that lady let her little darlings watch

Anyway, Oscar Wilde once said that...

"if you want to tell people the truth make them laugh" and South Park does just this holding a mirror up to reveal the often glossed over topics and perspectives of society. Highly recommend THE PANDEMIC SPECIAL but you've been warned!!

Haven't watched in ages.. but I feel the same. It's an equal opportunities offender.
