Going back to very early memories
Dublin in the 70's winning the all Irelands especially since Kevin Moran lived next door to my school and the team would come in with Sam and we'd get the day off
FA cup finals ..
The build up on the BBC and then the match
Some fantastic results
Euro 88....in the Submarine bar and the same for Italia 90 and USA 94

Cian O Connors gold medal! It was an amazing day where we all stopped to watch him
Jessica Kurten on Diamond Exchange in Millstreet! Anytime Jessica jumped really she was my absolute favorite
Conchita Martinez winning Wimbledon! In fact Steffi Graf was literally my idol
Lord Gylenne winning the Grand National! Danoli! Desert Orchid and Honeysuckle
An my very very very memory …. Flo Jo winning gold at the Seoul Olympics the very first ones I saw |

Alicante Spain, and Cork City Ireland |
"A new memory from last night. Spain's 16yr old Lamine Yamal scoring in last night's game against France. Youngest ever scorer at a European Championship. Pure joy!"
That will be a great memory.
Although I'm still high after Cork beating Limerick.
From childhood, 1982 Paulo Rossi scoring for Italy in the world cup is stamped on my brain.
And the Cork teams bringing Cups into the primary school after winning All Irelands was a regular occurrence for both hurling and football back in the 80s. All us kids got to touch and hold the cups, and chat to the players. |

The Ireland v England soccer friendly Landsdown Road 1995 riot. Scary experience that we could see coming from as early as being in the bars beforehand, luckily we got out safe and sound and was able to head to our bus... |

This has to be a troll.
Michelle deBruin the whiskey pisser, Cian O’Connor and his doped up horse and Flo Jo whose abuse of performance enhancing drugs led to her early death.

I’ve been called a lot of things in my time
I did actually say after Michelle how it turned out but it’s a memory I remember very clearly
Cian well I worked in that industry and was very close to been in Athens myself! I remember been at a show and we stopped everything to watch it
When Flo Jo won I was 8! First time ever watching the Olympics and she got me intrested in Athletics
Just because they all have tainted stories doesn’t take away from the time and place I remember each of them ….. also I love how you skipped the plethora of other examples I gave |

where the wild roses grow |
I still get goosebumps when I hear the intro to "Put em under pressure".
So many Jimmy MaGee commentary moments, especially for athletics.
Meath Dublin 4 in a row was epic ??
And the Entire London Olympics were amazing

'77 all Ireland semi between Armagh and Roscommon which went to a replay.
Young lad behind me at the second game wore a Roscommon shirt until the end and took it off and had an Armagh shirt underneath.
Got on the pitch and got interviewed by reporters from a German magazine about my experience and then got into the changing rooms to chat to the Armagh players.
Larry Kearns lost a tooth in the Canal End penalty box and asked me to help him look for it which I did but he found it himself. |
