Bisexual Socials

Has anyone in Dublin ever organised a Bisexual Only social? Seems a lot of posts here talk about the restrictions of finding truly bi men, women and couples, is it something that would work?
On the other hand, will it be taken negatively?
Just looking for opinions here to see if there is a scope for them.

"For couples, would both need to be bi?
Could women who are straight but enjoy bi mmf attend?
It’s a good idea and worth exploring. Just make sure you have it fully thought out first "
That is what I am trying to suss out. |

Don't think it would be viable
I seem to remember when a club had a bi night that was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales
Maybe a social that as well as the normal wristband then people that are bi could wear an extra coloured wristband for identification to show other bi people
Thats if people are not afraid / ashamed of their sexuality
Just an idea |

"I attended a social event a while back for a bi night.. just people exploring,. No one had to take part in anything uncomfortable.. or not at all .
Great watching too "
Even if it's a sexually active event, nobody ever has to physically engage with anyone, ever. |

I dont mean a bi social
When you go to a normal social you wear a wristband and you could have 250 fabbers at the social
So an extra wristband to show that you're bi or bi curious with the right person or couple |

Fantastic idea Bog!
We may try that at our next big social on 24th of August to see if that's something that would work.
I find it is kinda hard for bi men to spot each other at these things, so it should be a massive help |

I have a Bisexual pride silicone bracelet I wear just out and about. Always interesting to see who spots it and also who understands.
So wearing it to a social is something I'd do as a matter of course. Lots of retailers have them at this time of year for pride. Mine was from Shein. I got a couple and stack them.
I prefer the lesbian colours so wish I was a lesbian lol.
Unfortunately the Demi flag (I'm Demi) is close to the Asexual Flag colours so it gives the wring impression as I'm yhe opposite of Asexual. |

"Wouldn't it be better to just know every guy or girl in the room is bisexual?
No confusion with labels or wristbands "
Yes great idea and very popular as can been seen by the fully booked social
My idea was more just for socials where you could have a lot of people at it |

I think because couples are included where one half is bi and the other not.
But it would be good to only have bi people. |

It starts a while conversation about how we define bi.
For example, a lot of guys aren't up for anal - giving or recieving, which is fair, but that makes them worry they aren't going to be seen as "truly bi".
But for women, kissing, touching and oral is all there is to it.
Still, it's more common for LGBTQ people to have these conversations about what your sexual partners are open to,
With straight people it's always kind of assumed. |

Had that exact conversation with a couple once and afterwards thats exactly what I felt like |

So just to give you guys a context
Every single male for my booked social is Bi or Curious
Every single female is Bi or Curious
Only 3 couples have the male as straight.
This was purely a trial and it is successful at the moment. Next one will surely be a bi only social.
However, no one is invited or coming to the social who says No Bi Men on their profiles.
Just to keep the conversations started and ease the tension in the room, I am trailing the wristbands.
Hate me if you want, but atleast I am trying to do something different in this space.

I think the wristband idea is a great way to go and could possibly be a good idea for all events. It can be very difficult to figure out who's straight, bi, single, couple...but I know from experience that socials can be difficult to organise and you will never please everyone. |

I agree with this completely!! Wishing you the best of luck with your first social and hopefully there'll be more to come!! |

When I'm in PDI I regularly attend the Eden_GC Bi nights which have exactly that - a wristband you wear which indicates you are Bi and open to playing with all genders (as in Man and Woman are not the only genders) and the wristband always works well
I would definitely be open for a future event xx |
