Northern Ireland

As the title says how far is reasonable to meet people that is practical and means you can go back home the same evening. So without having to book accommodation.

Depends on the person doing the travelling

I've had people travel more than 2 hours each way in the same day to meet me on a few occasions.... sometimes just for a social

Now that's commitment

Meath / Dublin / Birmingham

Depends on the person, the route, the time of week/day. I've gone 2 and a half hours each way for a coffee and a chat

"1 hour max 90mins"

This for any of us who live in the sticks! That said we drove to Dublin one night many moons ago and home the same evening. Oh to be young and stupid again!

It’s also dependant on the time you are meeting at as to whether you can get back home the same evening.I have traveled 2 hours on a few occasions. It was worth it, so the time was irrelevant to me.

I've driven 3½ hours each way once but there was too much of an expectation that I would do it every week so I never did it again and wouldn't travel more than an hour now.

Probably up to 45mins would be plenty.

Like some we’ve lots to organise so it’s not just a simple case of hopping in the car whenever the mood strikes. We don’t want to spend all our freetime travelling either - Mrs

I've driven 90mons to meet someone who also drove 90 mins...for coffee and then again for more...

But I'd want to be fairly sure it was worth it. And it's not something I would be able to do often so not ideal for me really.

Hour maybe hour and a half depending on what time I’d to spare. If it let’s say was a day together planned out visiting somewhere together followed up by lunch I wouldn’t mind 2 hours. If it’s only a quick fuck then I’d likely only be up for 30-45 mins. Just don’t see the point of putting much of an effort into quickie. For me it’s about spending sometime together. May it be over lunch, coffee, walk in the park, pizza or a few hours indoors.

If I knew the person or people were genuine and chatted on the phone distance would not be a problem. To be fair Ireland is small and can be anywhere 3 hrs or so

I wouldn’t mind any distance for a first meet especially if I'm on the bike, I can usually include something else along the way, saying that I’m still trying to get a first meet

Kinnegar half distance to Athlone.

Athlone half distance to Sligo/Galway

Cavan for Donegal

Porlaoise for Limerick/Cork

Limerick for Kerry

Newry for Belfast

Gorey for Wexford

Carlow for Waterford/Kilkenny

All that places are mid way and not touristic so hotels are usually affordable. Much cheaper that booking in Dublin.

Citylink bus to the airport is another option if you don’t want to drive.

I remember driving for hours to tinder dates after lockdown. I would make myself a new play list and enjoy the music. I like a good drive. So if you have time, you can make it worthwhile even if all horny desires remain just aspirations. However I found that generally once there was attraction, and dates knew you'd put effort in, things progressed nicely. Before fab, I used tinder. However fab is more honest not perfect but the starting point is a basic level of willingness to have fun.

The attraction is still necessary. So I will drive far and make a trip out of it. If I have time. Mind you, overnight rates in Spain are far cheaper than Ireland, so it's easy for me to say.

I used to drive 90 minutes each way once a week to see someone for naughty hotel meets. They used to travel the same distance and we'd meet in the middle.

Fun times while it lasted. But I don't think travelling further would be sustainable for something regular.

Think an hour each for both is enough if it's for a social. Used do 3hrs every few weeks when with a regular meet. All comes down to personal choice and availability of free times.Travel any distance for social nights though when possible

I think 45 mins or an hour max if we are not staying over. If we are staying I still wouldn't want any more than three hours. Arranging play is tricky further away because we do want to get to know people first. And the only way I'll be happy with that is a social with no pressure to play.
