I used to go up camping up at Tara every year with my partner at the time. It's been a long time (20yrs) but there was always an eclectic mix of hippies, witches, druid's and just regular folk who liked the atmosphere.
The cafe there still does a really good scone with jam and clotted cream. |

Yeah, pretty much that. People in touch with mother earth. It's a great, chilled vibe up there on that night with bongoes beating away, often a few snail bonfires with the opw tearing around trying to get them put out, and fire-eaters and the like. |

Fun fact: Summer solstice as gaeilge is Grianstad an tSamhraidh
Grianstad means sun-stop in Irish because the sun appears to stand still in the sky for three days!! Not that we can tell nowadays, we aren't as tuned in to the cycles.
I've no plans for any of the Grianstad days |
