"Id imagine its all going to kick off which makes it a bit more exciting
I also think Israel might win based on phone voting fixing "
Thought that myself. Could be a big row brewing, better then some of the acts |

Oh it’s a mess and I love it! Bambie is going to preform she was reporting Israel during the dress rehearsal, the DRAMA! Honestly so excited for the mess that is going to unfold and #freejoost and #crownthewitch |

This could be a mess altogether! Hopefully not enough to derail the whole thing anyway. And hopefully I can even watch it, I'm hot spotting rte player to watch it and it's useless |

I have never been able to watch a full Eurovision. I don't have the stomach for it. However I do get fascinated by peoples reaction to it. It's like Bovril, one extreme or the other.
This thread is as close as I'll let myself to following it.

Jury votes, not public votes
Brilliant win for Nemo - super song, simple but high energy staging, and what a voice! Switzerland and Croatia were my top picks from weeks ago, so I'd have been happy with either winning |

"I'm delighted she didn't win. If people call that music then god help us all. Devil worshipping at it's best. "
A hundred percent. That act doesn't represent Ireland or its people. Was disgusted that we made it to the finals. Especially seen the tri colour on display at the press conference. Armenia and Israel both were outstanding. Especially Armenia stuck to the traditional dress, music etc. For us they were the worthy winners. |

Yup, utter nonsense.
I watched Bambi’s performance this morning and couldn’t take my eyes off them. It was an incredible spectacle, perfect for the Eurovision and it reminded me of the best Macnas parades. They were put in a very difficult position this year and did Ireland proud. I was delighted to hear that they quoted Sinead O Connor at the end with “Love will always triumph hate”.
If you haven’t yet, listen to the intimate version of Doomsday Blues. It’s stunning.
Also, devil worshipping? Really? |

Ireland?? That represented nothing about Ireland. A total shit show from the beginning. It was an embarrassing moment from Ireland putting this act forward. Plus the satanic symbol I think he is referring too, when he says devil worshipping. Plus i wouldnt be taking anything that sinead o connor said as value. She was an excellent singer, loved her version of the foggy dew, but she was a headcase at the same time. Anyway we can agree to disagree on this. |

Ireland came late to the Euro trash song contest. We've tried for years to do it ike we used to but got nowhere. It's no longer a contest for talented writers and amateur singers. It's a theatrical show with virtue signaling at its worst . Can't understand people getting vexed on here in regards to the diff acts and bambi thug . It's a frivolous few hours of fun. If you like that sort of entertainment. |

Best Eurovision song entry by Ireland ever....
Written by Father Ted Crilly and Father Dougal Maguire
My Lovely Horse,
Running through the field,
Where are you going,
With your fetlocks blowing,
In the wind.
I want to shower you with sugar lumps,
And ride you over fences,
I want to polish your hooves every single day,
And bring you to the horse dentist.
My lovely horse,
You’re a pony no more,
Running around,
With a man on your back,
Like a train in the night,
Like a train in the night! |

So how many votes did Bambi get when selection was made on late late show? If they represent the people of ireland I'd like to think there was a sizeable poll for the song. |

Doesn't make a difference how many voted as long as all those that voted have their votes counted

If there's a claim that the song represents the people as those who voted it would ve interesting to know how many voted for each song. Surely there's nothing wrong in finding out that information. And it does matter how many voted |

The Eurovision has long ceased to be a song contest. It is now a political statement contest and a wokeness display.
It used to be about songs that you could hum along to or sing along to if your voice was not as horrendous as mine. Or you get that ear worm song that just hangs around in your head.
I would actually love to see a song from Ireland that was sung in the Irish language entered from Ireland. It probably would not win but it would be nice to hear. |

I dunno, Bambi sounds like a dose to me.
I googled it, and they were whinging that Isreal warned parents with kids that this act might not be suitable. But I watched it on BBC and Graham Norton said the exact same thing, but no issue with him.
And to be fair they were literally dressed like monsters.
Bambi is the one who tried to break rules by wearing a political message.
It was fairly cring seeing them fake cry their eyes out in every interview afterwards, but still with immaculate eye make up and not a tear in sight. |

It hasn't been a song contest for nearly a quarter of a century though! She wasn't competing in a song contest, really.
Personally, I think the faux outrage around Bambi was a bit pathetic. It was a good experiment to show how easily people can be influenced. |
