It's holiday booking time. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay in Ireland with family friendly facilities (indoor pools etc) ?
Struggling to find anything that's not center parcs? |

"Had a few nights in Kilkenny recently going to Spain turned out to be cheaper for 4 people with 2 extra days keep searching it will come good "
We've done that a few times, but the flights over this year are more than 2k for all of us, so looking at domestic options. |

"Not worth it cheaper to go abroad for a few days
We are looking at that too, but with 7 of us the flights are bonkers.
Pain in the arse but the ferry might save ye a few bob "
We've done that before too, but the ferries are out of 4 bed cabins (and you HAVE to book cabins).

Have you tried places in Northern Ireland
Lots of family friendly places with pools
Much cheaper than the hotels and holiday homes down south
Lots to see and do up there but a bit of a drive for ye in your minibus |

When my kids were little we took them to the share centre outside Lisnaskea in Fermanagh, indoor pool, loads of supervised activities on lough erne and on land, great family atmosphere and some entertainment in the bar or the "house" at night, can book a 8 person chalet or bring a tent or caravan. Kids still talk about going now. |

There are a number of hotels with self catering accommodation chalets but you still get to use all the hotels facilities including pool etc
Couple we have used Gleneagle Killarney, Stationhouse Clonakilty, Westport hotel??? Worth checking out and you can sometimes get good deals by changing your day of arrival etc
Considering 1300 for car plus 4 ferry to France for week in June 1800 early July |

I don't have any recommendation for indoor pool hotels. But a very reasonable family trip I do every Summer is glamping with my kids. Its in Cong Mayo. The bell tents are all set up they with double bed and two singles with bedding. So each 5 metre sleeps 4 and it's 80 per tent a night. There's electricity hooked up so we bring a projector it's great craic toasting marshmallows and watching movies. There's also a camping kitchen and showers etc. It's right beside Ashford Castle which has boat trips falconry etc and set in very picturesque Cong. Playground on grounds and hundreds of acres of woodland to walk. It's super safe for kids to run around campsite. If you want to know more PM me I know the area very well I used to live there. My kids are teens now but still love going back |

To be honest I think if you are outdoorsy and active and pick an area like Kerry there is absolutely loads to do outdoors. Hikes, trails, cycles, OPW sites etc.
Depending on the time of year you will have options at the beaches too. Some spectacular beaches for swimming in Ireland. |
