There's a red button on a desk that you're sitting at.
The instructions say that you can press the button as many times as you like and each time you press it you're given 1000 euro
However everytime you press it somewhere in the world a person just drops dead
Man,woman or child you'll never know but someone loses a loved one
Do you press the button
How much do you earn |

But sure, there's loads of people dropping dead at any one point in time anyway. The question is, will it be possible for my pressing the red button to be linked to any particular death, with the possible consequence of my arrest for murder? |

For some reason this thread reminds me of Fr Ted, the episode on the plane & Dougal presses the red button that say "Do not press".
Or the concert where allegedly Bono said every time I clap my hands someone dies in Africa and someone in the crowd shouted up then stop doing it ya evil bastard….."

Realistically if the whole world got to choose, there wouldn't be anyone left on the planet to worry about! |

Dont they say all property is inherently theft. If you buy literally anything, you are indirectly benefiting off the pain/suffering/death of others.
There is just less steps with this big red button |

There was a Twilight Zone episode similar to this years ago. Stranger turns up at a couple's door. Gives them a bag of money and a button. Deal was if they press the button someone they don't know will die and they keep the money.
They eventually press it, guy comes back to collect his button and (spoiler alert) assures them that the next person that gets the button will definitely be someone they don't know. |

"I’ll just trace the cable that connects the button to the vault and take the cash.
I think you're living in the dark ages - what with everything being digital "
You don’t get the same satisfaction from pressing a digital switch as you do from a mechanical switch |

"You can bet I'll be pressing that button, like a kid in an arcade playing Street Fighter in 1992!...you fuckers will dropping all over the place! "
Those who claim they would not hit the red button but are likely wearing clothes and using technology that, at the very least, relied on underage kids who, in some cases, probably lost limbs. Just saying... |

In my last job, there was a Red button , on the floor. We all knew not to stand on it accidentally. One of the guys got bored one night and decided to re arrange the furniture, and pressed the (non digital) button. The response was immediate, and there was a pre planned response. ...I won't go into the details. I can only imagine how he felt, knowing the storm he'd created, and how he'd explain it. "Eh, I got bored..." |
