If a boyfriend or a girlfriend is constantly insisting on communicating via WhatsApp instead of ordinary phone calls

Is that a red flag on privacy and a trust issue too. .

Run or stay in the relationship. .

I don’t see any issue with it.

Maybe they have limited minutes and unlimited data.

Maybe their phone reception is shit and they get better reception through WhatsApp

Not a data or network issue. .

Commenting about the background constantly if they are not sure where the person is

Wanting to know every move and movement .

The red flag is your last sentence....

Well, clearly run because that is a weak excuse from your part, and it seems like anything will be seen as a red flag to you.

Sounds like you're not happy in your relationship - you need to talk things through with your girlfriend! She seems insecure from what you've said, you need to sort that with her.

I mean, if it’s your relationship, it’s more of a red flag that you’re on here as a single male no?

If there’s trust issues, talk about them and if not resolved, walk away.

If there’s control issues, run away.

Exactly what i was going to say. If it is your relationship and you are on here as a single male without her knowledge i think she has good reason to be wondering what you are up to.

If you arent happy just let her go find someone else.

Just putting out a soundbite for a friend that's not involved in the swing lifestyle .

His girlfriend INSISTS that they communicate via WhatsApp VIDEO CALLS

Is that a form of stalking ?

Can't go for a pint with mates or do anything on his own.

No not stalking but it is controlling behaviour. He needs to talk to her about why she doesn’t trust him or walk away.

She's insecure and very controlling and something needs to be done about it!! He either sort things out with her by having a good talk with her or he needs to end it!!

They need to sit down and see where the problem is . Relationships won't work out without trust

Using WhatsApp instead of voice calls is pretty normal... but if suspicion is already there then it might well add to that suspicion.

My girlfriend always video calls me using WhatsApp any time we talk.

I see nothing wrong with it as it doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing, as I have absolutely nothing to hide.

In fact I like to see her pretty face on my screen.

If the person you're referring to is wanting to know every move your friend makes and everything he does then that is much different, and is very controlling behaviour.

Would be worse if she did not want to communicate with him much, or did not want video calls etc or would he complain about that too.
