Just listening to the radio about jobs that will not survive much longer because of A.I but more so people's changing life styles
What jobs do you think are under threat ....are you replaceable by A.I or Chat GPT
The number one job loss was shoe repairs / key cutting
Now I admit I haven't worn shoes with leather soles since the 90's but I see 3 different show repair shops near me and they also cut keys and they're busy
Any opinions |

A lot of data analysis jobs are going to go.
Design work and technical drawing.
Copy writing and eventually editing.
Animators.
Voice actors and eventually actors.
Certain medical diagnosis, scans etc

Heard a different discussion on the radio a while back on that topic. There they said it will take some time before A.I. will be able to replace humans and right now you still need a person to direct it. |

Well not sure if you saw that DPD post, where DPD had to cancel their AI assistance as a customer made it speaked Ill of the company.
It was on sky news the post.
So I think they might be rather far from being fully AI.

To be fair that's not exactly something AI would be replacing, although when we all lose our jobs to AI we won't be able to afford new shoes, so this career path could be making a comeback |

Shouldn't computers, spreadsheets, or clouds have gotten rid of us all ages ago?? They just made us more efficient. AI may do so again.
Kinda feel it will just create new business and employ more people! |

"Another 3 years or so and it's welcome to mine!"
I'm actually introducing elements of AI into my job without telling anyone, hopefully there is no red flags when things start getting more efficient, done right and on time

I'm going to lie I kinda died a little inside when I had seen concept art for a movie, that I was
Genuinely impressed with, that turned out to be AI generated,
The rewards, recognition and reasons to stay passionate in avenue like that will be gone, replaced by souless tool
... I mean .. I for one love our new AI overlords! Hon Shhkynet |

I actually know someone on a six figure contract that does nothing
He contracts out his work to design people in poland and India and passes it off as his own
I mean he double checks everything to make sure its right but hasn't worked in about 5 years |

Having worked with graphic design, editing and animation, I'd say those will take a while. We are using AI tools to try and speed up some aspects but it just means some tedious parts gets churned out faster. It doesn't do a great job and really isn't up to broadcast quality.
At least for now, it can't compete with humans, it's just another tool we're using.
Editorial and news writing is the main one it can do right now. If you've ever had a job to research a topic and write about it. AI can do that. |

Office jobs where peeps churn out marketing, management and business concepts, programmes, plans etc. I've written some of that kinda sleek stuff in my younger years, it's a lot of blabla that sounds and looks good, only requirement the figures have to add up. Ideal for AI. |

Influencers have to be easily replaceable by AI - thankfully ! |

I am in the same industry. AI has also speed-up my processes. I can't really see AI as a threat. In history, mass produced products made things cheaper, but the value of handmade items increased even more and gained more importance than ever. The same applies to the evolution of AI. Processes will speed up, production will increase, but human creativity will gain even more value. |

Im going to be replaced by a bot. Quite disappointing to see 28 years of work, multiple qualifications will essentially be a non entity in 3 - 5 years. Will l pivot.. No. Retirement looms in a few years and shur fyvk it.. Ill be a hot granny bot. |

Some jobs will, some won't. Some new types will open etc.
I'm lucky in a way that I'll never have to worry about Ai. Too physical a gig and always out and about. But data processing jobs or things of that nature are likely to undergo huge change.
Carpenters, electricians, postmen, police, plumbers, council workers and jobs of that nature will have nothing to fear for a decade or two at a minimum until t1000 becomes a reality |

People who are creative and innovative will probably do well if AI takes over a lot of jobs.
Eventually they'll have to give people a decent basic income if there's no job but yet they're well qualified and available for work
It could also go back to people working in agriculture again or some kind of sustainable farming, fisheries or environmental responsibility.
Looking after parks, beaches, rivers lakes, headlands forestry and the infrastructure.
But at your own pace, not like forced labour or anything just working to your ability.
Some people wouldn't like it but I suppose being outdoorsy and I like hard graft it would bother me

I'm an artist, traditional, 3d and visual effects. It's one worry I have as I'm looking for a job. Alot of the entry level positions will be done by ai cutting off that entry route. Hopefully it's more a tool in the box rather than replacement. Like hand cutting a pic in Photoshop, now you can use ai to select subject. An hour job is a minute now. Still needs cleanup but is worrying after spending10years learning how to do this stuff to be replaced before I even get to work in it. We will need unions to set rules on how much can be used. That said, it is up to the customer, like using self service in a shop, that has wiped a few jobs off the board. But the customers use it so company will persue it if it makes money. |

"Main thing is, if nobody is working an ai are doing it for more profit, who buys the goods if nobody has money?"
On magnetic pulse from the sun or some computer virus could reset a lot of things lol

This would be the ideal situation, a world where we enjoy life and ai does the graf, but like everything it will be taken advantage of. Companies and gov don't care about your quality of life, just money, sadly. Can't wait for elections hahaha |

I'm a total contradiction, I'm well able to do bushcraft, foraging and hedge row living. I can fish, hunt and build shelters.
Butch and outdoorsy all week and in the evening time at weekends I transform into Danú lol
It's important have survival skills and embrace hardships now and again.

There are so many jobs requiring humans which will never be replaced
Nursing , caring , medicine , family law, Criminal law , therapy , leadership , the arts/music, trades, teaching .
There will also be also be lots of AI jobs created for humans in developing AI, teaching/training people to use it and ensuring its correct implementation and governance .
So it’s all good |

AI technology use cases are narrow in that it can to specific things very well but trying to combine them is years of.
Yes certain jobs types will go away but new ones will emerge and the net effect over time it is predicted that there will be more jobs. People will need to re-train and there is no better time than now to start. |

Yes there will be job losses, but there will also be jobs created. Those that will succeed are those who learn to integrate AI into their workflow. Those who are themselves able to use AI as a tool to increase their own productivity. They will add value to themselves and for their bosses by learning how AI can make them more productive in a shorter time.
My fear is not the loss of jobs. My fear is someone with cash and high technology like Putin / Netanyahu harnessing the power of AI combined with robotics/drones/swarms/ to create killing machines. I shit you not. The applications for warfare and military intelligence could be horrific. That's my fear. There are already powerful AI chips that are light and power efficient enough to put into drones and interpret camera and sensor inputs. Look at how quickly Ukraine and Russia have moved towards off the shelf drones and used them to devastating effect by adding munitions. Strap in an AI chip and accurate sensors and then one remote operator can command a swarm. Eventually that remote operator could be an AI too. |

The education system needs to change. Forget this memorising information, no need as it will be accessible instantly to everyone. The way we think needs to be how we are educated. This will be a huge shift and a greater challenge than Ai. Remember when the teacher said don't use a calculator as you will have to do it without one , no more. Why learn capitals, rivers , the date of the battle of Waterloo?
Teach people to use their brains properly and then we will truly evolve, with the help of Ai.
I'm looking forward to seeing the changes. |

There will be job losses, due to synergies, we ll need to feel at ease using AI as a tool to boost productivity. It ll speed up admin and research but still require human oversight.
I agree the potential uses in military and logistics are scary and need regulation, the tech is moving faster than regulation.
The hands on, practical jobs are safe. The analytical jobs are going to change. |
