Hi all.

Plans being put in place for a walk in East Cork on Sat. 24th or Sun. 25th of February.

Relatively easy walk and can be completed as a loop (approx 4.7 km - 1hr 20min) or alternatively a shorter walk to the highest point and return the same way (2.5km - 50 mins), for those that want an even easier starter walk.

Coffee afterwards at nearby cafe.

More details nearer the time.

Happy walking trails.

"With fingers crossed for good weather a walk is planned for Saturday March 2nd in North/East Cork.

The walk will take place on gravel forest paths so runners will be ok but walking shoes/boots would be even better. Rain jacket might be advisable.

Option 1, carpark to hilltop and back, 30/40 mins approx.

Option 2, carpark to hilltop and back via forest loop, 1 hr approx.

Coffee and more chat at nearby filling station afterwards.

Post on here or drop me a DM if you are interested but not already on the Tel*gr*m chat group.

It will be difficult to beat the S/E group's walk last weekend, especially the refreshments, but we will try our best.

"

Sounds like fun! A great idea.

Walking group looking good.

More ladies than gents prepared to brave the hills and the weather it seems. And lads always complaining they cant get social meets.

What's all this about cake?

The idea is to lose a few kgs not add them.

But yes a fantastic few hours spent with the best kind of fabbers......ordinary genuine fab folk with just the right level of naughtiness thrown in for good measure.

Lots of laughs and a chance to really get to know each other.

(One very surreal moment but what happens in the forest stays in the forest).

Checked out the walk location for April 6th. Ir was a bit muddy in places but not very difficult. Boots might be a good idea

Found a really nice cafe for coffee and a chat afterwards.

Fingers crossed for a nice sunny day like yesterday on April 6th.

"Thank you for a lovely morning/afternoon with beautiful views! It was lovely meeting the ones that attended the hike today, count us in for the next one. Very sound people.

PS: cake is always the answer.

L&L. "

Thanks so much guys for your company today. It was a most enjoyable walk in an enchanted setting.

I think we may have opened a window into another world....

What absolutely stunning views...

Some people are just bred to eat cake.....

Next walk already being planned.

Just have to find somewhere with some interesting old ruins.....apart from myself.

Looking forward to meeting up with some old friends and hopefully some new ones on August 31st.

The walk is an easy one, more of a stroll in the park, with lots of opportunity to chat and get to know people during the walk or over coffee afterwards. Those that don't wish to walk would also be welcome to join for a social coffee and a chat.

"Are beginners welcome?"

The walks are not of the strenuous hike variety so "beginners" are indeed welcome, as long as they are recently meet verified.
