Bracknell

Going over to visit some family in Ireland next month and it will actually be my first time I've ever been to the motherland (or fatherland in my case).

Going for 2 weeks. They live about 30 minutes out of Dublin so Ill stay with them a few days and do all the obligatory tourist stuff there, then visit the Grandmas side of the family in Wexford for a few days and from there go West to visit a friend in Cork. I did also planning on driving the Great Atlantic Way but is a week enough time to do it properly or is it something that you should spend at least a few weeks doing?

i travel all over

It depends how much depth you want in your holiday . You can absolutely drive it in a week and see the full list of highlights. Given that it will be February you might end having a couple of days in that week where the weather isn’t compatible with seeing places or seeing them properly .

In terms from Galway I would recommend

1. Clifden

2. Roundstone and its beaches

3. Glassilaun, and lunch in the hotel in renvyle where there is a beach sauna

4. Letterflack and the national park and abbey

5. Omey island

6. Ballynahinch castle

You can do that in a week or two days depending on thé pace you want to go at

City centre/Naas

A week will be plenty of time to give you a chance to see the sites and keep an easy pace.
