"Ostrich, kangaroo and horse were a once off.
The most controversial thing I've eaten is Foie gras. "
Wow, today I learned something new, never heard of the technique of gavage...
Gavage-based foie gras production is controversial, due mainly to animal welfare concerns about force-feeding, intensive housing and husbandry, and enlarging the liver to 10 times its usual volume |

Slow cooked tuna eyeball served in the socket. Not bad. Not great. Very strong flavour.
Quail egg omelette.
Bird nest soup is high up on my list too but I'd need to get to China.
Also eaten all the usual unusual things: kangaroo, alligator, foie gras, steak tartare, sea urchin, tongue, tripe and drisheen, haggis, shark.
I'm avoiding a joke about eating out too much... |

I have always gone for the exotic , so if I see something I haven't tried, then I will go for it. Eaten snake, shark, alligator etc. By far the worst thing was casu martzu. It's an Italian cheese with live larvae in it.Seeing those little white things wriggling around as you are putting it in your mouth is something else. Uuurrrggghh |

Mrs
Oh I'd like to try battered pigs ear. Was that in Ireland, Mrs?"
I am afraid not. That was in Manila many years ago. |

Lidl has insect burgers at the moment. Made from dried mealworm larva... basically maggots.
I bought them out of curiosity but haven't had the stomach to try them them yet. I might sneak them to the missus, and if she doesn't complain I'll give them a try. |

Nearly broke a tooth on one of what I think was its teeth.
My dinner partner nearly puked everywhere.

Cow Heart
Rabbit
Snails
Veal
Wild Boar
Squid (vile) sea worms I call them....
The only meat I eat now is beef & chicken."
It sounds like you were doing a bush Tucker trial. Are you a celebrity by any chance?
I have to disagree about the Squid though. I love it but like everything it has to be cooked right |
