the OP says later in the thread she has paid for the hotel herself, but would you see it as an issue if someone lucky enough to join her paying a share of the bill?

Absolutely not
But some arrangements are not clear and in the past I've been asked to meet in hotel rooms that I pay for and then leave so that the couple can stay alone in the room over night and check out on my expense the next day

Absolutely not

Exactly, i would pick up phone and ring reception and ask to have another pillow sent up please, and ask them what are the 3 of us watching on Netflix for the night lol
