"I hate the dating apps...just wondering has anyone tried a speed dating event or something that is for singles ...not orgies ya dirty minded people lol "
A friend has been singing its praises to me, so much that I think I might give it a go soon. Online dating just isn't healthy |

Not locally. Sorry no. But Bumble does one only at 7-8 Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. |

Yes when I lived in London I went to a speed dating event. Was nervous as hell to begin with, but actually found that it was great craic in the end. Moving around after a couple of mins was fun. A chance to chat to a whole range of people. I think a fab-style speed dating event would be amazing! |

That’s a great idea. Or an online one on here. 10 people to a group. 3 minutes to private chat then, bang move on to next person. A thumbs up by both parties at end of 3mins means yes to continue chat later. Silence means no thank not right now. |

Could you specify what you mean by bang in that instance? |

I attended a few a while back and thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm back single so may be going again soon. The thing I'm finding difficult at the moment is the age categories seem a bit restrictive. I.e I'm thrown into the 45 to 50 category and typically date people younger than me.. I'm right in the border. |

I do agree with this. I think online speed dating could be okay, but I think meeting people face-to-face does give you a better idea of the vibe between you and others. Same as with meeting people on here - you can video chat with them to get a sense of them, but the vibe is only clearer when you meet them for a coffee or drink. |
