"Always my favourite city to go out in"
Mine too, best city in Ireland.
Perhaps I was just unlucky on the night.
Interested to get the thoughts of Galwegians. Have they seen much change since pre pandemic times? |

We've Definitely noticed a slippage in the place & at times the ambience isn't what it used to be but maybe that's just us getting older & looking back at the place with Rose tinted glasses, we tend to go out around the town earlier as it's the same then as it used be but we can see why people would think it's gone down |

I love Galway and Friday nights are the best imo.. it's really casual with people going out straight after work.. lovely atmosphere.. great buzz around the place. Also the streets are especially pretty this time of year.
Maybe Bord Failte should be paying me.. |

"Salthill is really lovely too.
Does anyone know if Al Capones restaurant in Galway is still operating? Covid hit when we were going and was mad to see it and try the food "

Best thing about Galway is you never know who you'll run into Everyone from all over Ireland goes there. Worst thing about Galway is you never know who you'll run into. Could be embarrassing!! |

Galway city is special
It hasn’t had the developments and regeneration which limerick or Dublin have but it’s very safe to go out in
You do have to know where you’re going to have a good night . I avoid shop street generally as it’s just a tourist trap .
In terms of fab if you put in the effort over a long period of time you can have a group to mingle within. You absolutely will not get anywhere visiting and putting up a meet
