"I’m thinking of immigrating to Gran Canaria. It’s warmer. Cheaper and more swinging. What do people think should I go for it. Not much keeping me in Ireland, sick of bern ripped off and taxes. "

Renting first is a great idea, there is a huge difference between a holiday there and living there. Going over and renting gives you a chance to try a few areas before tying yourself to a place. There are so many differences between here and there esp for squatter's rights to stay after a few days.
Follow your heart but do your research |

Depending on the size of your house here, you might be better off renting a room or 2 and keeping a room or 2 for yourself, Its less complications if you decide to sell after you make up your mind, |

Go for it just do the research and cover yourself. Most of these locations have networking available so you can have all the info and even a few contacts before you travel.
Goes without saying rent in the place before you buy.
Best of luck |

Make sure you do your sums and make sure you'd ACTUALLY be better off. Lower cost economies usually have lower wages too. Also a quick Google is telling me the income tax levels aren't much different to here. |
