I think this kinda plays into the old fashioned idea that swingers are people who will have sex with anybody and that preferences aren't a thing. It's a bit outdated and I would feel that in real life there would likely be at least one person in the room who would be unhappy with what they got and feel pressure to continue regardless... either that or they would refuse and someone would be upset. A bit of a minefield |

Is the bowl of keys concept not just an urban myth? 
In all my years in the scene I've never seen it....and I really would not be a fan unless a room full of friends then that would be a very different story

It's a great fantasy idea but in reality it would need more planning and structure to work.
But just like most parties organised through here there should be a no pressure rule.
For it to work a ground rule could be set that whomever you get paired with, your only obligation to them is to spend some time with them. Chat, have a drink, people watch other pairs in the same situation. If you want to take it further then both of you can.
Kind of a swinger speed dating 
The anticipation of taking in the whole room wondering who you might be paired with that night and the catch up with your other half afterwards would be a big attraction for most.
Whether you go balls deep or not should be irrelevant haha.
Sometimes chats with strangers are the best you can have. Having a common risqué interest will make it even better |

I don't think the OP or any of the eager men were thinking along the lines of a social meet. They'd be very disappointed if that was what it turned out to be
I was generalising of course as many lovely men also have standards.

I've never done it, and I'll admit this is a bit of male privilege, but it sounds exciting.

I'm not sure that it is the implication though.. I'm sure there's plenty who would like that idea but this is the 21st century so it's not likely to happen. |

Sounds very much lik a male fantasy to me. There are women with kinks something like this I'm sure.
But most people I know, including myself would steer clear of any scenario that puts pressure on us to get off with people we wouldn't choose for ourselves.
I was once at a play party where a guy interrupted everyone at 2am to insist on everyone playing spin the bottle.
Of course the guys who weren't getting any action were all for it, and most of the women were not. |

Only ever been to one party and everyone was very laid back and there was no pressure at all especially for a rookie like me.
There were a couple there who were also at their first party.
They took the hump and left after an hour without even taking their coats off.
The host asked what the problem was and they said it was fucking ridiculous that everyone there knew each other and were sitting about drinking coffee and chatting!
They said they wanted a proper party where you just fucked everyone and anyone with none of this boring shite.
I remember asking the hostess if those type of parties existed and she said if they did nobody attending them would ever get invited to one of hers. |

That's funny... But I've definitely been to parties where people were so busy having all the chats and bants and drinks that it took till like after midnight for the adult stuff to kick off, by which time a small number of people had to go as they their babysitter had timelimits. I guess it's nobody's fault but their own for not getting started earlier, but social awkwardness and newbie nerves can be a factor. |

I'm not overly keen on the dressdown 'parade' which is part and parcel of parties but it's one of the few ways to instantly change the mood in a room from friendly to sexy |
