So started 2 weeks ago on classic movies I might not have seen or seen only once and can't remember what they were like
Lawrence of Arabia...was so bad that I gave up on it ...best thing about it is the music
Goodfellas.....same actors as every other mobster film but very good....only half way through it
Next on my list ...The Bridge on The River Kwai
So any recommendations to add to my list |

"I put the 1st and 2nd Godfather movies on your list and Citizen Kane. "
And the 3rd Godfather too. It's nowhere near the same level but completes the story. I found it quite satisfying at the time. Oh, but Sophia Coppola is a truly terrible actor, spoiling many of the scenes she's in. Thank God, she found her calling! Sorry, got a bit carried away there. |

I really enjoyed the third. I found the ending very powerful. It made me want to dance with my daughter |

In fairness the 3rd godfather was a fitting end particularly the recent re edit but doesn’t hold a candle to the performances and craft of the other two.The subject of a classic movie for the OP depends on taste and type of movie one likes as the possibility are endless as the lists been posted is starting to show

"How about a bit of an Arnie fest -
Terminator
Terminator 2
Predator
Commando
Conan the Barbarian"
I literally suggested all these movies to Mrs last night to watch, and she vetoed them all! I'd throw Total Recall in there too. |

My teen is old enough to appreciate Terminator now so we're gonna watch it soon."
This.....when my youngest was 15 we had 2 weeks of all the good 80's and 90's films....Full Metal Jacket was his Favorite |

Rear Window and 12 Angry Men are great examples of timeless classics that will never age.
They could have taken place 70 years ago, or today.
Just a guy looking out his window thinking he witnessed a crime, or a bunch of men in a room discussing a crime. |
