What do you have a fear of.
With all this lovely wet weather my house has been invaded by big massive spiders.
I HATE spiders... Absolutely completely irrationally
So whats your fear? Global warming aside.. Irrational or rational |

Swimming in the sea. Nearly drowned as a kid in Spain and I remember the fish touching me as I was submerged in the wavey water.
Now, as long as the water doesn't go higher than my bollox, I'm good. Any deeper and it's a big nah. |

I have a fear of heights that only appears in my late 20’s and continues to get worse. Disaster as my job involves being on a ladder and issuing hoists etc |

Heights. Worked at scaffold erection years ago but now not happy being high unless it's on life.
Balloons. All that swollen latex ready to explode scares me. No problem with condoms though. Better safe than sore.

And clowns...a clown chasing me on a escalator the dreaded fear !!!! "
Escalators is common. Next time you're at a shopping centre, watch how many people jump off the end of an escalator. It's quite humorous |

I have one main one which has been there for the last year or so and has been a constant worry, but it's too private to share with all and sundry on here. So I'll go with lighter ones which is big spiders in my bedroom or bathroom (why those two rooms I don't know in particular) but it's irrational.
And polystyrene I absolutely hate it. The horrible squeakiness (is that even a word) of it when you have to unpack something that is in it creeps me out massively so much so I'll try and see if I can get someone else to unpack anything that arrives in it. |

I like spiders, fascinating creatures, and they kill flies. My house is a spider sanctuary, can't be doing too much cleaning cos that would disturb them

Someone I know has lived in a house surrounded by tall trees and one of her kids used to have nightmares about one of them falling on her.
The child was living abroad for years and came home for a visit and while she was in the house a lorry carrying tree trunks from a local forest shed it's load right outside and killed a man and his dog. |

"I glanced down a lift shaft as it was being serviced recently…I was consumed with fear!
I also have a fear of going to hell when I die "
Usually people who fear that won't have done anything to get them there. That's if the place exists at all.
My fear is growing old and dying. Life is good so it sucks that we're here for such a short time. |

Fear ?...tbh loads of scenarios...in no particular order
...being thrown off a boat in shark infested waters ..
Snakes & rats .. horrible..hate them tbh
losing my independence..either physically or mentally
Falling...they say the fall won't kill you ..it's the sudden stop that will.
I suppose every time l drive , l'm ok with that but it's the assholes that think they own the road and drive at ridiculous speeds and are capable of killing...after all a vehicle can be a killing machine.
...l suppose there are different things that people are more wary of ...fear is something that they're frightened of, and they do their best to avoid if they can ..it doesn't always happen..like driving for instance..it has to be done in everyday life ...great question OP.

Handheld hoover works great. No mess on walls and ceilings. No fuss. Spiders bit tired and dizzy when you let them out lol.
Fear of Blue lights when your trousers down lol but adds excitement too. |

You know you’re getting older when your little black book has more medical professionals listed than ladies numbers. |

I had a motor bike accident years ago and woke up in hospital 3 days later not knowing what had happened, from that day I told my nearest and dearest if that ever happens again and I will not have a quality of life to just switch me off, I fear being a burden on people in that kind of situation so would rather just check out! DNR all the way now |

I was at almost 3500 metres a few years ago looking down on a village 1800 metres below and it felt like the safest place on earth.
Last week I was over 2000 metres altitude a couple of times looking over the edge at a drop of between 800 or 900 metres and again it was amazing.
Similar to standing on the very edge of the Grand Canyon I've never felt the urge to jump. I'm too busy taking in the scenery and the scale of it all. |

I do struggle with water. I can swim and play etc in the sea no problem. But every once in a blue moon I can get a sudden panic attack. I have to really concentrate and breathe right... Which if you're treading water is not easy.
Apparently it goes back to some childhood event where I nearly drowned... But I don't remember it. |

Thank you everyone for sharing. Im surprised no one mentioned flying. I had a panic attack driving on a motorway once and couldn't overtake large lorries. Felt I was going to be crushed onto the metal barrier.
Alot of cbt later it was triggered by other trauma. So indeed it was irrational fear but now I can no fear.. Bring on Obama... |

I'm afraid of cows. I have a memory of being told not to stand behind a cow that was in my uncles field n case it kicked me and killed me. I couldn't have been more that 3 or 4.
I won't even go into a field with cows in.
I get that height thing too and feel urge to jump so I regularly dive off the 6m board in salt hill.
