I went with a fuck buddy to my first one so I had that safety blanket. The group was very friendly and welcoming though.
If you are going alone, you can join the chat group prior to get to know some people and maybe ask someone to meet you for a drink before ye go to the social. Makes it a bit easier. Also, let the host know you don’t know anyone and they can introduce you to a few people to get you started. |

The pub then supermacs ... |
I attend most socials on my own, at the start it was very daunting but through group chat in the lead up helps. The more you attend the less daunting it gets as you build up a network of people who attend also so flying solo isn't as bad |

Dee said she was bored but that's because her partner at the time was too busy looking for the women he had spent months before perving on.
Jay was nervous as he's not great at socials due to large groups of people. Funnily enough we were originally introduced at a social many moons ago |

A very nice Fab lady met me for coffee the day before my first social and she was there to greet me when I walked in.
All the people there were really friendly and made me feel very welcome.
I no longer chat with that lady but I still owe her bigtime for helping me to get started. I have been to socials since and have no problem going solo. There is always someone more shy than you there who will be happy if you come over and say hello.

You will not be alone in your predicament as there will always be someone else for whom it is their first time too. Conversely there will also be others that have been to many socials and clubs and will know half the room.
A decent host will introduce you to someone so that your not left sitting in a corner feeling awkward, most ikely someone that they know well and that will get the ball rolling.
Good luck |

Op....chat groups are set up a few days beforehand so you get talking to others and it helps to break the ice
Don't drink at all would be my advice..nervous beers can lead to having a few too many
Have a few no alcohol drinks and see how you get on |

My very first social, I was in hotel and decided I wasn't going. One of the guests attending seen me putting my room service tray putside the bedroom door and persuaded me to go. Had a great night.
My advice for anyone attending alone, pick one of the smaller socials to start with, most have a wee kik group before the event, often a few people will meet for pre drinks so no reason to be alone.
I've attended all alone |

First one I went to was on my own and I'd never met a single person there.
I joined the chatgroup beforehand which helped a little and the hosts were very welcoming.
I've attended others where there was virtually no interaction from the hosts and I hadn't a clue who anyone was as there was no chatgroup and everyone was sitting around tables which isn't easy when trying to introduce yourself to a table full of people.

I went to my first group social on my own. It was a kik group lunch and I was very lucky that a delightful couple SensualnFun met me before everyone arrived. Even though I'd been in the group for a couple of months, I was still a little nervous meeting everyone. After a few minutes my nerves left me as everyone was so nice and friendly. So my advice would be just take the chance and do it. |

Yep definitely one of the smaller socials with around 20 people tend to be best for those attending alone. It's more difficult for single males, you really need to go out of your comfort zone. The ladies will naturally attract people. |

Can you do cam verification? I can’t get meet verification because I haven’t got any verifications from socials which I can’t attend because I’ve no verifications . If I was gay or bi , I’d be verified by now is there anything I can do ? Meet one of the organisers for a coffee or something because every social I try attend is the same , I work nights on a 7 day week roster and can barely ever attend and then when I can I’m not verified to be able to even get an invite .. I understand why the rules are put in place but it makes things very difficult for new people and I wouldn’t mind I was verified with my ex when we had a couples page about 2 years ago but it was deleted before we broke up and starting fresh and it’s very difficult |

My first social was in Belfast and I went with a someone I had met socially before. It was good to meet people I had chatted to on here at it.
I've been to a few now some have been good craic others not so much.I wouldn't be that bothered about going to the larger ones anymore.I think if I do go again I'd prefer a smaller social where it is easier to chat to people. |

My first social was a popup coffee social. So the group was fairly small, when I got there anyway's.
I was fairly nervous while driving to it.
When I got into the hotel. I was thinking "Here goes nothing". As I meet the group I was made welcome & relaxed into it. REALLY glad I went to it.
I am hoping to go to another social in a few months, if everything goes well.
That said, I'll be nervous enough beforehand again. As it'll be with bigger group & I'll be on my own again. Even if I don't come across that way at the time. It'll almost be like the first social, as I'll hardly know anybody at it. If anyone at all.
Agree if there's a chat group setup beforehand, can be a great help to newbie people.
I know it wouldn't be easy. You can do it OP. |

Only been to one myself , as I'm not that great with large groups and when a good few already know each other it's hard to break into the conversation, but said I'd give it a go. And not knowing anyone didn't know what to expect. That said ,did chat with a few people but only small talk really. The hosts did make an effort to make me feel welcome though ,as they could probably sense I was a bit outta place. So, my advice is maybe get chatting to the group who are going and give it a try |

From personal experience a popup coffee social, could be, what ye're looking for. When they could up on the forum. I'm only starting meself aswell. So can't say or think of any other socials or private parties to go too.
Good luck with it. Ye'll be great at it, after a few mins into it. |

Nothing wrong with getting cam verified. As far as I can see its little to no good to you. When trying to go to a social meet/event. It's the meet verifications that's important to you on that front. Others might say I'm wrong.
Have you tried Help a Faber thread, to see if you can get verified?
Its not easy I know. |

Age on profiles meaning I can’t message some people to even try meet for a social or anything which just makes it a lot harder |

I always attend to socials on my own and that is fine, what really makes the difference is if I am welcomed or not by the host and their regular friends cause, in this world, almost every body knows each other, therefore some events suit for me and some others are much better to avoid them. |

I was nearly sick with nerves, knew nobody and I'm shy so was questioning myself right up to the door... a really good guy who is now a good friend messaged me and told me where he was so I made a beeline for there and sat down. He got me a drink as I couldn't talk to anyone lol... couple drinks in and slowly started to mingle. Everyone was just lovely and welcoming and I haven't looked back since... it can still be daunting though! |

I was very nervous and anxious the whole day at the thought of going alone.
Thankfully though, a woman agreed to meet me outside and took me in. She introduced me to a lot of her friends and acquaintances. The reception I received was brilliant. I was made to feel so welcome and made many new friends. The nerves soon left me.
My initial intentions were to stay for an hour or so just to show my face, so to speak, but I ended up staying the whole night. So glad I went!! |

Wait & see if you get a ticket first. Then join the chat group or put a status up date on your profile to get people to contact you. It wouldn't be as bad for you then.

OP most important part if going alone
Be urself and dont go with expectations on the night. Get involved in the kik chat and most have pre drinks .get urself along to that . Will settle any nerves u may have . If u don't put urself out there ull never know. |

"I always attend to socials on my own and that is fine, what really makes the difference is if I am welcomed or not by the host and their regular friends cause, in this world, almost every body knows each other, therefore some events suit for me and some others are much better to avoid them. "
You would definitely be welcomed. Decent profile and personality |

OP firstly start off with a coffee meet and get a verification.
Dv8 have non-verified socials midweek some months keep an eye on their profile and on Forums.
Heading into anything new can be daunting but it's exciting.
Embrace it and enjoy!
The room full of strangers will be friends by end of the night.
Lots of chat groups are set up prior to events get chatting and arrange to meet people before and go in together. I still do that to this day!
I went to my first social over 10 years ago and now host them. They are SO much fun and the best way to meet people!
Get it out of your head they are all strangers and that everyone knows everyone. Everyone started out just like you....

"I have never been to one and unlikely to when there is no interaction from locals on the site "
Lots of interaction from locals!
It might not seem like it on fab, but there's a pretty big community up north, they just don't bother much with private mail on this site :p |

I went to my first social with a friend. Very nervous but had a ball. Think cos my friend was as nervous but also as chatty.
After that l went solo but realised its just being social and the hosts are excellent.. |
