I would have thought that speaking about hiv on a swinging forum would be an automatic passion killer , I know it's responsible just isn't something people want to talk about |

Exactly what this lovely couple said! Get the test delivered to your door, do it in the comfort of your own home and then post it off. Was super simple and quick. Highly recommend everyone does it |

Well the fact is people are not! They need to be policed! Simple as that… if it means posting picture of your status. And make it monitory before engaging! That’s what needs to be done for both gender’s |

In fact when we had ours done at the local hospital we didn't get any kind of paper or electronic proof. Just a verbal all clear, so nothing to show even if it wasnt a massive beach of privacy/personal information. |

Be honest
Posting a results on pic on your profile you mean business. No evidence of test no chats or engaging.
I have just heard there is a break out of hiv in fab community. TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY
You only get a text message. They dont give you anything else so not sure what one is supposed to post"

Worry about and take responsibility for your own sexual health and testing, assume anyone both on and off fab is a potential source of STIs and you won't go far wrong. People could have a clear test result from last month and had a bareback anal gangbang last week. |

There seems to be this idea that the swing community is riddled with everything and the cause of high HIV rates in the country.
That is what you're implying op.
I can tell you that testing is a topic which comes up very frequently in conversations at socials and parties, despite its passion-killing nature. People are extremely aware, open and cautious and they care about each other.
So maybe you should be going out and asking people in pubs and clubs about their sti testing frequency if you want to actually help. |

Of course it’s a good idea to talk about.
Raise awareness. The majority of STI’s don’t have symptoms and some are linked with cancer.
It does not matter how many people you sleep with everyone is at risk.
For those who have blood that refuses to leave your body you can book into your local STI clinic.
If there isn’t a STI close to you. You can arrange a test with your GP.
It’s also important to remember that condoms aren’t always 100% fool proof in protecting anyone from all STI’s so regular testing should become part of your life. Swinger or not. |

I'm well versed and educated in stds and preventative measures ,the point I was making is that it's not a discussion most people want to have!, do you ask for evidence of a clean bill of health before you get down to business with someone ,of course you dont |

Yeah I'd say it's absolutely it's a discussion I like to have. Before I joined fab I was on tinder and I had the same discussions
Have yet to find a single person who had a problem with hearing I had a recent clear test.
General answer is 'me too' or 'oh I should get mine done soon. Thanks for reminding me.'
It's great. Free tests and safety for everyone. What's not to like? |

My apologies. I personally haven't found that it's something people don't want to talk about and haven't found it to be a passion killer.
In fact the safety conscious and responsible folk are even more attractive for it. |

As far as I’m aware, PreP is only available to people at high risk of contracting HIV ie drug injectors and men having sex with men. It could have changed though. |

I don't see how this could get so controversial that it ends up being a mini argument.
I would say that everyone should get it done for simple enough reasons. I get it every three months and have never had a problem. But does that mean that I'm immune in future. Hell no. If I did catch something, it's definitely better to know sooner when there is a higher chance of fixing it rather than possibly spreading it around.
No single form of protection is perfect. Well maybe abstinence, but none of us are here for that. So this is an absolute no Brainer. If just for selfish reasons.
Would I take it as gospel if someone here said they had a clear test. Depends on the person. Just like everything in life. Do I always have a sti conversation, no. Have I had them. Yes.
Life's complicated enough without making things more difficult for ourselves. Personally I think everyone here should regularly do the shi:24 test or visit a clinic. But I believe everyone outside a monogamous relationship should do the same thing too. |

Personal responsibility!!! That's what alot of this comes down too, yes people can say they are tested, "clean" and if you choose to have unprotected sex with them you have to bear some of the responsibilities in your actions. Of course people will in the height of the moment tell you what you want to hear, maybe show you the last test results but you still don't know if they have engaged in unsafe practices since the results.
One thing is for sure that alot more people are getting tested SH24 is a great service which I have used and as mentioned above you get a text message to confirm the results, I now use a HSE clinic as they just take some blood as it's simpler for me but you don't get any written confirmation to prove negative results.
Just one more thing, if you engaging in sex with multiple partners you should get tested as a precaution, some people form the opinion that I engage in safe sex and I'm fine attitude so don't get regular check ups.
