That’s not really a conspiracy though.. the whole point of getting rid of cash is to see where money is going and if it’s going to the wrong place you’re gonna get screwed .. |

Well the society control mechanism part surely would fall under the conspiracy theory banner I would imagine. Cant see the banks or others pushing it using "hey go cashless so we can monitor you financially 24/7" as an advertising banner soon.
As for seeing where the money is going - ya I get that - money laundering is a massive issue now, everywhere

Bans don't care less about laundering, many of the merchant banks are actively involved in it.
It's really just another step in cutting costs to raise profit!.
One time you went to the counter to draw cash, now majority of banks are closed.
Then you went to the atm and they're slowly removing them.
Now you go to your phone/card.
Costs for Bank are slashed and profits soar. But your bank charges will still increase! |

Banks going cashless are for the exact same reason every supermarket in the country now has self service, card only queue. It reduces costs spent on staff, and losses due to counting errors / counterfit notes etc. |
