Yes it just stretches. Pregnancy hormones help, but it's surprisingly elastic. Massaging the entrance and a slow exit is helpful to give it time to stretch without tearing. That's why midwives will often tell the mum to stop pushing as the baby moves to crowning to allow a bit of extra time for the skin to stretch more slowly. |
