To beard or not too
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ive had a really well groomed (short) beard now for over a year. And everytime I get chatting to someone and click, then the dreaded face pictures come in I get the "Im sorry I dont like Facial hair" remark and boom just like that. Convo done.
I know its all personal choice, however just a little poll vote to see for a laugh.
Is the beard phasing out? |

I work in the buildings and shave my head regularly and even after a shower if I shave my head my scalp sometimes isn't fully clean . So I think it depends if you have a dirty job I would say for hygiene reasons shave it if you job is relatively clean its you own personal choice. |

"I've had one for about 5 years now and anyone who doesn't like it won't be on my Christmas card list.
It's not a fashion statement or a trend. It's part of who I am."
Amen! Its dedication! Plus the 3 chin eraser |

I’ve had a beard for years and got more compliments on it than negative. Think it suits me so won’t be shaving it off. Although I’ve been tempted recently just to see what I’d look like without one now I’m that bit more advanced in years |

It’s a personal preference indeed and you choose your preference. If you like yours , keep it irrespective. Also as I read on the thread a lot of people love beards ( yes they tickle well lol )
I have had mine for years and it’s here to stay |

I can't imagine shaving off my beard. For a start I really like it and I enjoy the grooming that comes with it. I trim it with a scissors about once a week or when I'm going out.
The reason I grew it in the first place was partly financial. My facial hair is course and just eats razor blades. Depending on the job I was working on I'd have to shave twice a day.
It takes a couple of years to grow in a good beard and I can't imagine shaving it off based on anyone else's preference.
Sure others probably don't like my finely sculpted upper arms and others still probably don't like a firm peachy butt.
Can't please em all. And why would ya. |

Lol someone beat me to that remark here , but yeah it tickles and that’s the best of “moisturising” for a beard |

If I shaved off my face merkin I'd look like a giant thumb with a face drawn on it, so it's staying put.
Can't please all the people all the time so keep it if it suits you.
(Also I heard it from a mate down the pub that women who like beards are a better shag anyway)

Firstly OP, it's your beard, you choice, nobody else's really.
I do shave my head alright, cause it's going anyway's.
Like what was said earlier about head shaving, it can take around or 2 to fully clean the top of the head alright.
Never attempted to grow a beard, always been clean shaven or nearly always. I did grow a tash 1 year as support for Movember. Might do it again in the future, after I change job's. Anytime I haven't shaved for a few day's & I'm wearing a top with a high neckline. It can be a pain, as the stubble gets cough in the top of the neckline of the top.
Also some stubble, beard of some sort can be a help to keep the face warm, during the winter month's. If your doing outside work like the buildings. I think you need to start growing a beard, while your young or grow a beard for awhile & if you want to you can shave it off. You can always start to grow a beard again when your older, if you want to again. As it can take years to get it right.
I've heard of men growing a beard to make them look older or look there age at least.
I did get some stick, when I had the tash for the month.
So I'm on the Fence about doing it again or even a goatie.
Each to they're own. |

"I took mine off. Will grow it back for the winter.
I'm doing the same "
I've had mine for nearly 20 years. Won't be getting rid of it anytime soon. Quite enjoy having a nice bushy beard.
Some love it, some hate it. |

Bit late to this been off for a while .. I grew a beard & my late mother who used to slaughter me for getting another tattoo or my hair been too short suddenly complimented me on my new grown beard .. I like your beard it suits you she said … it covers half your face …. Some will like it some won’t .. be yourself |

I wouldn be without mine, have it since 2017 now and i vary thru different styles but always keep it relatively neat, if women like it that's great and if some don't then what harm. Personnal choice I suppose |

It’s definitely down to personal choice just like everything else. Men should do what they want to do with their own facial hair.
Personally….it’s a huge turn on for me, I absolutely adore a short well groomed beard (luckily Nuts hasn’t scarred me yet with shaving his ) or at the least a very visible stubble. I love the look on a guy….and also don’t mind the tickle
Never mind putting how you trim/don’t your garden down below, I wish guys would put in their bio’s if they have a beard or not LOL |

Beards don't do it for a lot of people. I've had a beard for a long time before it became a trend.
In a previous job, I was required to be shaven fresh every day and it was an absolute pain.
I could possibly do with keeping it tidy but as far as I'm concerned if a lady isn't interested, then a beard is just the excuse. Move on and don't worry |
