My interest in attending a night in a club keeps growing every day I'm on here. I'm concerned about the dress codes and expectations there. Would black jeans and a shirt be fine in some places? Dressing down is something for later on once I get more established in the scene I feel. I think the first couple events I attend would be strictly just to chat, dance and have a couple drinks, meet people etc, rather than play. Can I expect there to be a good enough amount of people attending doing the same thing as me? |

"Try a social first. That way no need to worry about changing and no pressure. "
I second this advice OP. you are asking a lot of good questions that I'm sure will benefit many newbies.
Once you get to socials you will meet other fabbers who will share knowledge and tips with you too and there's no pressure |

Definitely try social first. Way easier to talk to people. It's basically like a normal night out of chats drinks and dancing. No pressure and you get to meet loads of likeminded ppl |

"Thank you all for the advise much appreciated. Social first it is, but which one?! "
I'd suggest one (or several) of the smaller, less formal socials with around 20 people would be best for a start. The large socials can be intimidating if you don't know anyone or make arrangements to meet someone as many people already know each other.
Keep an eye on the Forums and bite the bullet when the right one comes up |

I seen you asked DV8 for an invite in their thread, if you get from one then go. We go to them and they’re great, especially for single guys get verified.
Regarding dressing for an event, I would wear jeans and a shirt or trouser and a shirt and never have an issue. Also you don’t have to dress down at the vast majority of events too, only if comfortable to do so. |
