Things to do in Dublin
Jump to: Newest in thread
So I find myself in Dublin for a few days at the end of the month.
I'm looking for things to do in the city centre in the evening time. Not your regular touristy things but something fun and interesting.
I could Google but I'd prefer ideas that fabbers have experienced. |

I live in Dublin, was out after dark last night and yet I managed to survive to tell the tale.
yes there’s been a few high profile incidents in the papers but the notion that you shouldn’t be out after dark is a total overreaction. |

They should bring in the army with real ammunition and shoot on sight policy should be in place
For fuck sake it’s been highlighted because it’s the capital is as safe as you make it just like any big city really
This doesn’t happen in Cork like

The Ghostbus tour is really fun. Yes it's somewhat touristy but also really enjoyable, especially as the evenings get a bit darker and the mood is set.

Dublin |
Come visit the leafy hinterland
Great restaurants if you’re eating out (though Cork has some standouts)
If you’re off the booze and splash tour circuit are you looking for culture? the National gallery is hard to beat during the day and is free for most of what’s worth seeing, very few head stompers in there either. Could check out an nch gig then that night(again very few head stompers). Lots of decent restaurants for cuisines not represented in the real capital if you want a recommendation.

Lots of food places that would be off the beaten track
lots of whiskey and beer tours that aren't Guiness or jameson whiskey
I'll write a list and post it here after work !

"Jumping on thread as I’m there 25th does dublin have Uber ?"
Yes and no. Ireland doesn't allow private cars to operate on Uber like in other countries. You can use Uber, but it will just hail normal taxis, or which there is a massive shortage at busy times. |

"I’m also there end of the month, when I travel for work I often like a wander round the city, is Dublin really that bad at night? "
It can be depending on how unlucky you are and what area you're staying in to be honest
Even The Guinness Storehouse listed above had 12 little fuckers attack someone last night at 6pm all on video

Just ask in hotel what taxi service they use, then use the same company or anytime you want one |

There's a lot to do in Dublin, id recommend,
Hot Chocolate from Clement and Pekoe
A slice of pizza from either Bambino or Di Fontaine's
Trip to Bread 41 one of the mornings for some pastries lol
I enjoyed the Teelings whiskey tour as well as the Jameson or Roe&Co
The escpare rooms are good craic, or head to Hideout Bar for pool games and craic
Head Liberty Markets one of the days
Then the obvious one would be to wander around and have a few drinks lol
I'll volunteer as tour guide if needed
