I’ve been on here a long time now, left and returned as a lot of people do.
I enjoy chatting on here just to pass the time.
Now, while I’ll chat to anyone, I do have a ‘type’ that I’m attracted to, like every one I suppose.
But is it wrong (maybe the wrong word) to actually have a type.
I like small petite women, preferably with dark hair... but the odd time I mention that in messages, that’s the end of the conversation, not all the time, but some of the time.
So, is it ‘wrong’ to have a type ? |

Well if the person isn't your type, then why would they carry on the conversation?
Unless you need a person to be your type in order to have a meet with them, I'd avoid mentioning it at all. |

It’s not wrong to have a type but if the person you’re talking to isn’t your type and you tell them there hardly going to hang around.. or am I missing something? |

Its not wrong to have a type at all. Some will argue you are "missing out" if you just aim for that but you like what you like as they say. Could put it in your profile as well. Cant guarantee people will read it though |

Id have zero interest in continuing chatting to someone if they casually mentioned what there type was and it wasn't me, why bother wasting my time id shut the conversation down there and then... |

Seems pretty normal to have a type.
It's not clear to me in your post OP if the people you mentioned your type to were actually your type or not. I could understand someone nopeing out if they weren't.
Even if they were your type I can imagine some might be uncomfortable being objectified purely on the (possibly stereotyping) physical grounds.
You could just try a simple compliment?
Since I stopped watching porn about six months I've noticed subtle changes in what I considered my type.
Fulfilling certain fantasies has had a similar effect.
I've also been challenging my own preconceived ideas of attraction of late and had some lovely surprises. |

It's not wrong to have a type. Lots do. I guess it depends on the circumstances around you telling them your type and how you're presenting it. If they're not your type and you just want to continue chatting then I guess I can see why they might bail out of the conversation. |

Nothing wrong with having a type but if you bring it up in every conversation it might come across as box ticking in the same way people say they like older women or men.
If they think that's the only reason you are chatting to them they might not be comfortable with that line of conversation. |

Absolutely, its not a finite line. Its a loose guide, cos IMO personality prevails over everything else.. But someone that attracts is a bonus too. |

It’s got to a stage now with men that my type is so specific it’s very hard to actually find it
Hence the complete cessation of using fabguys and only using here for meets . I enjoy the company of women so much whereas meeting a single guy (unless he absolutely fits the perfect description ) isn’t happening |

Everyone has a type.
Some like blondes, some like brunettes, I could be typing all night because the list is endless.
Yes it helps if someone is easy on the eyes, but personality is also a huge characteristic I look for too.
No point in a woman looking like Salma Hayek and you can't have a normalish conversation with her.
But if Salma Hayek is reading this, feel free to message me

"I dont understand why someone would end a conversation on those grounds ... its quite normal to have a type and to be attracted to people outside that type "
I guess you are making it clear to the target of your attention, that while you are attracted, the target is a consolation prize rather than your actual type.....

A type doesn't have to be based on physical features. You could have a preference for people who like kissing or people who like sport. The very fact there's filters on fab shows that most people have types e.g. non-smokers or people over 50 etc. |

To me a "type" is more of a pattern you've noticed in the people you happen to find attractive.
I think some people take it too far and close themselves of to other people who are still attractive.
It's also weird and feels like a neg to tell someone they are "not your type" unless you are specifically trying to end the conversation.
If a guy was trying to chat me up and says he prefers brunettes, I would leave him alone to go find one.
Why would I want to hear that he was "settling" for me? |
