Great town for a stag ..some nice pubs too ..murtaghs..mchughs..dunnes..an poitin still.. I did a pub crawl there 5 year ago
Did I mention the beautiful Shannon river too |

It's Leitrim, aka heaven.
Just be careful not to venture over the bridge to the dark side, aka Roscommon.
I grew up in south Leitrim, not far from Carrick. It rás one of our go to places for a nightclub, although it was a mile outside the town so we never socialised much in the town itself. Coming from matches we'd occasionally drink in it but it never had the appeal of other Leitrim towns for me. I think it sees itself more as a provincial town than anything. Outsiders always seem to like it though and it's incredibly popular with the stag/hen parties.
It has a big busy marina as well so you can hire a boat and sail up or down the Shannon. |
