What works or doesn't work for you

Do you watch the ads on the likes of youtube or do you skip them as soon as possible

For years I refused to buy things that were number 1 in their category

So in a company full of the original Iphones I had an Android HTC

Never bought Gillette products...always Wilkinson

Traditional print advertising is going the way of The Dodo and I only buy online editions of daily newspapers but seem to remember pages of supermarket ads in them

influencers......have they worked on you for anything .....thing I'm too old to be their target market

I'd refuse to buy anything advertised by the " stars " on RTE

just a few thoughts.....what do you think

I'm a bit like that myself. It must be an age thing. I find that the more exuberant the advertising, the less in likely to buy it.

Subtle, low key advertising probably works without me realising it though.

Yeah I think it's the more subliminal and low key advertising that gets me too.

Recently, everywhere I go on my phone there are ads for Temu and it's making me more determined by the day that I'll never buy anything from there.

I've no patience for ads on the TV or YouTube either, they just irritate me

I rarely watch broadcast TV for mainly this reason, and I actually pay the monthly fee for “premium” YouTube without the ads. Great value in my opinion.

Can only think of one time that I was influenced by an advertisement into buying something and it was crap so never again.

Rarely watch anything outside of Netflix or Prime and always skip the ads.

Haven't bought or read a newspaper in 20 years so no idea what changes there have been.

I was going to say it's ironic that I was originally working towards a career in advertising before life took over but maybe not so ironic and I've probably got the right approach to that job.

The West

I use a little black box to block all digital advertising at my router so I never see ads at home.

My phone is connected to it remotely so I never see ads on the go either.

Same as bog I tend to avoid the companies that have the biggest advertising budget and these days I do at least a little bit of research before I buy most things

It removes the ads and makes it so you can play music without it pausing, even with a locked phone if you want.

I just use an ad blocker for YouTube. Much easier.

No ads … that’s it .. I’m sure there’s other things but that’s the main reason…

There’s a shite ton of free stuff on YouTube, last night I was listening to a documentary about the American Civil war while pretending to work while on Fab and I had a ball

Ads - skip, skip, skip wherever possible and as soon as possible!!!

Don't have a TV so not subjected to TV advertisement. Don't listen to the radio so not subjected to radio ads.

I listen to Spotify, premium payer so no ads.

I rarely watch YouTube but just ignore the ads.

Influencers - don't know any, don't do them.

I'm completely out of touch with the celebrity and fashion world and fine with it

I'm bombarded with puppy training ads on Fakeb00k, suits me fine - seeing pretty puppies and not being inundated with any other shite

BUT - advertising is subliminal and I dare say, nobody is immune, including me

I'd prefer to drive an Audi, BMW or VW but will stick with the more affordable Toyota too

As for holidays on the Costa del Sol, I couldn't be arsed putting my towel on the lounger at 3am

Give me Netflix over Amazon Prime and Kraft Miracle Whip over Hellman's anyday
