"Is it a petrol you're driving at the moment
No diesel but I've driven it hard and I need to get a new one coming up on 110,000 miles "
I presume that Renault will give you the best trade in value if youvstay with that brand |

Nope because we technically still in the UK but it seems the difference in prices is a couple of thousand bog!not stuck on make but would like high mpg and a sub around the £20:000 mark and low mileage |

"Do you do enough miles a year to change to diesel
Absolutely bog I'm in a diesel at the moment and I have driven over sixty thousand miles in five years "
Is September a change over date for the reg plate in England
I always try to change my car about 2 months into a new reg change so the rep in the showroom is under pressure to make targets in the first quarter |

Shouldn't be too hard on diesel, the kadjar is basically a duster but better dressed, my ex had one, it was the family car and with 40L she would do Dublin and Mullingar the whole week plus some more miles around town at the weekend |

Get yourself a green cotton or pipercross air filter...I have a fluence and before that my mixed fuel consumption was 5.8l/100km after the filter it went to 4.8/100km and driving around 600km a week |

Mpg is part of it I need a bigger car for comfort I'm 6ft 3 and I'm getting old I want my creature comforts lol" you can also do a remap on the car, there are companies that do ones for power and ones for fuel consumption, nevertheless even the one for fuel consumption gives you a few more ponies |

No facts but speaking to a family friend last weekend who mentioned he had borrowed his sisters Skoda Kodiak jeep for a few weeks. He said fantastic to drive and would run on just a whiff of diesel. Investigate further yourself |

"To be honest I dunno bog my car NCT is expected in September so I am planning to put it through and then get with a year's NCT for the trade in!"
Sorry for cutting in OP.
If you live in the North, when did ye start going the NCT?
If your able to save money, by buying in the UK Directly. Do that, whatever make or model you buy. You must be light high tower in that thing.
Personally I know feck all about SUV's,you need something bigger than you have already like a (Kapugar). Leg room for the driver & back seat passenger is important to look at, when buying a yoke. What about the RAV 4? They look bigger anyway's, the downside to them is there petrol Hybrid.
Personally I don't believe the amount of mileage a person is driving has anything got to do with driving diesel cars now a day's. Compared to, what was like in the past. With the price of fuel & mileage out of the tank, should be part of the reasons, why you buy a certain yoke.
Each to they're own.
Good luck with it anyway's. |

Ya, they look something alright or seat, have a few SUV model's. They'll be up there with the Skoda aswell.
I know some people wouldn't recommend this, you can it a yoke remapped, it'll give you more BHP, also make it better on fuel aswell. Personally I haven't done it. I have heard of other's doing it & swears by it. |

O right, ya,that's understandable alright.
Is that all? I'll be keeping away from them meself, for another while yet. They're self charge hybrid. Ya,that's true alright. The sooner them thing's happen, the better, if there serious about electric vehicles. |

"Stay clear of Renault and Peugeot 2 of the worst put together vehicles even worse than land rover and that's saying something lol "
Totally agree with you about the Peugeot but I have had two Renault cars now and no problems with them infact if I didn't have the money to spare and want something bigger I'm sure my Renault capture diesel could easily do another hundred thousand miles!?? |

The opposite is more likely the case tbh.
Your engine's DPF relies on heat to keep it functioning properly, and if you don't do enough of those hard miles to crank up the engine temperature it'll start to clog up, causing a gradual worsening in performance and potentially leading to premature end of life issues for the engine. Most diesel engines these days just aren't getting enough of the hard miles to keep them functioning properly.
Your annual mileage would be at or just below what would usually be described as the threshold for switching between petrol and diesel. Short gentle journeys kill diesel engines. |

"How about a Nissan Qashqai? Bit bigger and basically the same running gear."
Absolutely I drove a hire car in march it was a brand new empower so comfy and loads of safety features!I would look at it again and see how the boot space differs but yes the top of the range older qashqai would be something to look at! |
