"Buddy of mine keeps bees say if you find a local keeper and eat the raw honey it help as the local pollen is in it and helps build immune system to it helping with hatfever"
Hayfever is caused by the pollen from grasses and trees, neither of which the bees bother with. There is absolutely no scientific research to back up the assertion that local honey will help other than you might enjoy your toast a bit more. |

I'd dispute that bee's don't bother with pollen from trees, in April and May Holly, Hawthorne, Lime,Alder and Willow tree's plus many more, are full of bee's gathering pollen "

I didn't phrase it very well but the point is the same. The pollen from trees is of no use for the bees making honey as the grains are just too small and light, hence the problems they cause with hay fever. The pollen is also only the smaller incidental part as its the nectar they're after. The pollen that ends up in honey is the larger pollen from wildflowers which don't cause hay fever.
Research has been done on this theory and nothing has been found to support it. |
