“You are not a swinger if you are a single”

Just because someone has not found the right person to share this lifestyle with, and as such you call them single doesn’t meant they aren’t part of the lifestyle or won’t remain in it if they do meet someone.
People that look for reasons to why anyone chooses this lifestyle or feels the need to put a “label” on it have always came across as lacking confidence that they should be in this lifestyle. It’s only an observation and am open to been proven wrong, but it has been my experience.
In Europe, the lifestyle is much more acceptable than Ireland and I think the now dead religious beliefs that made people think this way are loosing there grip on a more modern population so in my mind people can dip in and out of the lifestyle as they choose and as circumstances change in their lives. |

I think the term swinger is now out dated. Generally because of the legacy and stigma associated with it.
We definitely dont identify as swingers.
We prefer the term non monogamous but really open relationship describes us best |

I’ve been in 3 relationships over the past 3 years where my partners were jealous and didn’t allow me to play but were happy to let me watch them with guys or join in for a MMF. I’m newly single and want to experience it from the other side.
Mentally I’m a swinger but at this moment I’m a single male wanting to join other couples to fulfil their experiences….

Feels pretty gatekeeper-y, Oxford dictionary defines a Swinger as:
"2. INFORMAL
a person who engages in group sex or the swapping of sexual partners."
I'd say the 'or' being there key word as it means "a person who engages in group sex" is a swinger by that definition.
So if you're a single and only meet other singles, then no your not a swinger, but if you meet couples, or engage if other forms of group sex then yes you are. |
