Do you go out by yourself ?

i travel all over

To a restaurant, pub, cinema or anywhere else ?

Could you spend a day alone in a city and visit tourist attractions and enjoy yourself?

I recently went to an outdoor swimming pool and the cinema (twice) alone and had a lovely time .

From the lounge

I could, but I am happier alone at home in my cave where there's no risk of bumping into another human

I could.... but nearly never get the opportunity. When I have the house to myself which might be one or two days a year I usually do DIY jobs that need the electricity turned off, and cook myself an enormous steak

Absolutely, have gone on day trips to Paris,London,Glasgow and Brussels to see exhibitions and museums on my own

On holiday for a week last year alone

Ha ha this question seems strange to me. I've travelled all over the world on my own never mind having gone to the cinema on my own

Yep. I don't do it mad often but I do love my own company. I'll happily sit there on my own and have a pint or a bit of grub. A few days ago I booked a flight to get away next weekend for the bank holiday because I'd only end up sitting at home on my arse and regretting it. I've done various bits of travel solo. That's not to say I don't like doing stuff with people at all, I think I have a good mix of both.

Far far away

Definitely as I get older I do more on my own, I think you're social circle diminishes with age as people have more commitment's.

I have done many activities on my own, not a holiday though.

If I didn’t I’d never leave the house. I’ve been here n city breaks, been to restaurants, cinemas, etc by myself. Travelled far and distant lands by myself.

It has occurred to me that sharing some of these experiences would be better but that hasn’t happened.

Not that I would get a chance. I don't think it would ever happen.

But also I don't like my own company, few hours during the day is fine maybe cause I'm not used to long spells on my own. My friend is in Australia done two week on her own solo traveling very brave.

I love a day out riding on my own. No arguments over destination, pace, fuel stops, piss stops, smoke stops, just me, the bike, the road and the scenery.

I've had this discussion with a few different people.

I don't know if I could go out or away on my own, I think I'd feel bored most of the time having no one to talk to if I did. I used to work abroad and used to get flights fairly regularly even the hanging around the airport bar on my own seemed weird. Found myself on Instagram or WhatsApp looking for someone to chat to.

I enjoy heading out by myself, pub, restaurant, holidays etc. I like going to the cinema with someone, no idea why!

Much prefer company for all of the above, particularly a restaurant. And sure what's a hotel stay by oneself but a wank and a snooze.

Restaurant on cinema, NO, not on my own. Not a big fan of either of them in general. Have gone on weekends away on my own.

No problem with going to the pub or events on my own regularly. Have no Choice, as I'm single. So called best friend wouldn't ring me to go to the pub, he's single aswell. Even (doe) he passes by my door to go to the pub. He doesn't want to go away for a weekend or to events with me, even when I ask him weeks/months in advance.

So I've stopped asking him & started doing it on my own.

It's not easy alright, either I do it meself or stay in the house looking at the 4 walls. I'm starting to feel that life is too short to be staying in doors. 1 of the reasons, why I'm on here.

If you had a friend circle big or small, usually gets smaller as people get older, as people move away, relationships, marriage, family, etc. Other times people can stop being friends, for some unknown reason.

If you're an outgoing and sociable individual who genuinely enjoys talking to new and interesting people, then you won't be on your own for long no matter where in the world you go; adjusting your approach and follow-thru to suit your assessment if the other person is vital!

I (Mr) have to travel alot for work and often do restaurants, cinemas alone.

Sometimes I get to go to places where I get an opportunity for "touristy" things. Most memorable was a few trips to Cape Town, did Table Mountain, vineyard tours, Stormers rugby match.

I'm new to going out alone, but went on my first holiday alone last year and had a great time, and happy to go to the cinema alone. Social circle does decrease as you get older and I'd have little to talk about to people if I didn't go out and do stuff alone

I would go to certain places alone, gigs and restaurants and galleries. Don’t go pubs clubs alone as it’s messy. But travel alone yes and it’s wonderful to do what you want and when

I'd happily go out on my own. I hike alone, travel alone, go sightseeing alone. Some things like restaurants and cinemas work better as shared experiences in my opinion though. Part of the pleasure is discussing what your eating and tasting what the other person has. With the cinema, watching is fine alone but I enjoy discussing it with someone afterwards as well.
