The edge of town

Calm down, it's nothing steamy or sordid....

Last week G was away & tasked me with doing the laundry & changing the bedclothes, possibly an error of judgement on her part. She arrived home to a freshly made bed with grey undersheet & duvet, albeit 2 different shades of grey, pale pink oversheet & a motley collection of white, yellow, pink & grey pillowcases, again not matching either of the previous 2 shades of grey.

As I see it most of our time in bed is spent sleeping so therefore we can't see them and it makes no odds, apparently I was wrong! So wrong in fact that was implied that this is possibly acceptable grounds for a divorce, she has been sleeping in said bed, although she has likened it to sleeping in a tub of Neapolitan ice cream...

So folks, am I married to an OCD sufferer, or am I just a horrendous monster???

Answers on the back of a €50 note please

Well here is a thought! If mrs was Ocd, she would have had the duvet, matching sheets, pillow cases folded neatly into the co-ordinating pillow case, and colour blocked in the hot press.

Then you would have done it right right.

Maybe it was a test, to see if you are colour blind or common sense blind either way id give u an A+ for effort.

2 ways to look at it. She'll probably never ask you to change them again or she'll leave out the new ones to put on so there's no mistake.

The other is your wrong anyway, it's not the way she'd do it clearly and we're idiots.

Best option take her to pick some brand new ones, and pick the dearest option of the ones she likes best. Then go for lunch.

Let’s put the boot on the other foot and compare shall we? Imagine getting home from work and expecting a lovely dinner all lovingly prepared by your loved one. Instead of the steak, chips peas and other accompaniments you would expect with a meal like this she sets down a plate full of jelly, mash potatoes, cucumber and strawberry jam. It is still lovingly prepared but it’s just wrong on so many levels lol good effort but should do better lol

Well now folks, G here and have only just seen this thread! Glad to see I am not the only person who thinks multicoloured/mismatched bed linen is an abhoration. The only reason I slept in the cotton kaleidoscope was I was so bloody tired

And yes it was "weaponised incompetence" and yes I am taking a leaf out of Tabitha's book and colour coding to avoid future catastrophic events. Or give in and make the bed myself. I also love some of the dinner suggestions!

I made a similar mistake with similar criticism afterwards. No,I didn't notice before that they are all matching. My bad. Really it doesn't bother me...much to the severe annoyance of someone who sleeps on the other side of the bed
