Just had to endure 2 minutes of David Guetta and Anne Marie's cover of Haddaways classic

What is love on 2fm. Insert puke emoji

Should be a frontrunner for 2023 crimes against humanity.

So what are decent covers of originals?

For me a cover should totally flip the original.

My favourite is Hellsongs jaunty take on Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man”. It sounds nothing remotely like the original.

And Torre Florim reworks the Prodigy’s “Firestarter” into a right slow brooding, crooning tune. It’s marvellous.

Ok, one more that is well worth seeking out, Jonathan Wilson’s stoner, surf take on Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita”. Incredible.
