I do it the other way on, don't eat after 4 or 5pm

It just suits me, I'm ravenous in the morning but eating in the evening makes me feel ill

This is time restricted eating.

Intermittent fasting would generally last 16 hours plus without eating. Normally 24 hours or more.

I've often done alternate days without eating like pig out 1 day then eat nothing of very little the next day.. Not sure if it's healthy though

Intermittent fasting is a means of attempting to replicate the way humans used to consume food, before it became so easily available, in modern times

The most effective method is to avoid food, but not water, for long periods and then eat to the point of satiation; fulness.

Most people nowadays do not let their digestive systems rest, that is experience true feelings of hunger; a situation that was common until food became so cheap and easily available.

Fasting can be fatal with people who have stomach ulcers, it can also cause ulcers to develop another reason to eat regularly, there is no hard and fast rule, you know your own body and how it responds

"I would fast and it actually makes you feel really healthy and full of energy after a few days!!! "

It is a common experience: fasting unleashes hidden primitive drives within the human body, which has been used to fasting due to famine conditions and food shortages for many millennia, starting within Africa, in the Rift Valley

When I'm training I would eat 4/5 meals a day, nothing big and plenty of protein. Lost a net two stone due to muscle build. When not training I accidentally intermittently fast due to not consciously making myself eat those meals, and I would stabilise or put on a little weight.

It's whatever works for you
