Maybe I'm being too anal here but.... Does all the text speak, horrendous grammar and incorrect spelling not drive you all crazy?
Drives me insane and if I'm being totally honest it's a complete turn off. Just my opinion!! |

I find it very annoying. The lack of punctuation so you can't tell where one sentence ends and the next begins.
And we all have typos now and again, but there are some that can't spell one word right. Gives me a headache.

yes text speech is rude and not how we were taught to speak at all, its ruining the language, its so ignorant when i take the time to spell out all the right words and then all i get back is ok or the dreaded kk  |

I find it a bit of a turn off too, however it's important to remember that some people have problems with spelling i'e dyslexia, it doesn't make them any less intelligent but they may have problems with putting things in text. However I hate overuse of text speak, nothing wrong with a few abbreviations but when you get a message from a 50 year old guy and it's written completely in text speak I can't take it seriously. |

I find it a bit of a turn off too, however it's important to remember that some people have problems with spelling i'e dyslexia, it doesn't make them any less intelligent but they may have problems with putting things in text. As a rule i try not to use text speak, I don't think it's rude to talk in an abbreviated language but i do think it looks bad getting messages in text speak. I rather see things written and spelled correctly. If someone is intelligent, i like to be able to see this shine through in every aspect of their messages including how they spell. I have no problem with abbreviations such as "lol" etc for me this helps add a more natural feeling and gives more "tone" to a message.  just my opinion! |

Missing ones? What about the completely misplaced or wrong ones? I sometimes some people can't use a keyboard at all even though they seem to sit in front of one all day! |

Yes I agree. If I go into a profile on this site, and see that it is all written in text speak or just contains non existent words, it really gets my goat. If I send a message on a phone, like now, I still type in full words. No excuse not to these days with auto correct anyway.
But yes, if I read a profile with writing such as 'yaz, do wannn' etc, I do tend to think to myself that the author is very thick; then I begin to think how bad this world will be when people like that are in charge... Lol |
