Got this re SH24 STi testing kits, supplied by HSE. It's a great free service, and remember to test regularly.

We have now resolved this issue and we will reissue you a new kit shortly. You will receive an SMS once your kit has been dispatched. It's actually a good time to be tested. Some Sti might not present for few months. So for example you have sex and two weeks later you take a Sti test not everything will come up on those tests that early. So if you hadn't had sex for six months then tested most Sti will have presented in tests by then. Regular testing is just a good habit to get into anyway |

yes i agree with that some sti/std can take up to 12 weeks to show up.
As you mentionned regular testing is a good habit (i get tested every 4 weeks, i am very sexually active though) |

Just to add on this. It’s best practice when screening for some STDs, and I’m thinking especially of HIV here, to repeat the test 3-4 months afterwards. |
