From my experience of my own food purchases, and from observations of price increases of items that I no longer buy, I have been firmly convinced that the real rate of inflation is much higher than the rate that's touted by pundits.
A rate of almost 17% does not fully disclose the harsh reality of buying food. Items that used to cost £1 have risen by 25p in one jump, and pack sizes have also decreased.
Meat, cheese, eggs and milk are not now an auto purchase.
What food item do, or did, you buy that has risen by more than 17% over the last year? |
